I live in the NYC area and seems to me every Jet Fan has been talking alot of s*#! since Rex Ryan has opened his mouth and started talking crap about how great the team is going to be on 660 The Fan...the defensive players are even claiming they will have the NFL's #1 defense and are already feeling sorry for the opposing teams

Being surrounded by Jet fans...the one thing that surprised me is that my girlfriend's boss called me yesterday wanting to place a bet on the Jets making the playoffs and the Dolphins sucking...the bottom line is Rex Ryan hasn't won a game as a Head Coach...Mark Sanchez is still unproven

This Rex Ryan Mark Sanchez Kool Aid could prove to be poisonous. My advice to Jet Fans...CAUTION DRINK AT YOUR OWN RISK

By the way should I take the man's money? LOL

Absolutely take his money! Rex Ryan is just like his Dad.....STUPID! He is nothing more than a second class coach with a second class team.

Name 1 QB that came out after junior year and has ever done anything in their rookie year? So now the idiots think he can defy all odds?

Didn't they do this when Eric "Mangenius" took the helm of the Jets? Yeah, then Brett Favre comes along, throws a few picks, makes some bad decisions and all of a sudden, Mangini can't coach for ****. New York fans and the relentless New York media eventually ran him out of town.

How long before rookie Marc Sanchez begins making a few mistakes early in the season and before you know it they're running him out of town as well. New York fans bring this kind of **** on themselves in many cases. They drink the Kool-Aid and quickly spit it out. They want Sanchez to start immediately but can't figure out that if he does, this is a four win team.

Dude... This is no different than any other Jet offseason... EVERY year they think they are a superbowl team... I live in dirty jersey and work with and am around plenty of Jets fans and every year, regardless of anything, the vast majority of them truly believe they are going to the superbowl... Its freakin hilarious actually... Unrealism at its best.. Jets fans... lol

Um, excuse me... The correct nomenclature is "The Gina" and now referred to in Cleveland, the mangini and kokunis combination of, "Mankok" :chuckle:

The sad thing is that Eric Mangini is a GREAT football mind and a great football coach and those gutterballs picked him apart the first chance they got. That's what that rabid city does. The bring guys in with promise and hope for a turnaround and then find minor flaws and inflate them with the media. Then they cry when they continue to suck just before propping up their next great mind and franchise quarterback. Miami damn sure isn't the best sports town in the country but at least we're not a bunch of heckling booger eaters.

Can you imagine how the great Dan Marino would have been treated in New York?

If I was a betting man I would bet that neither the dolphins or Jets make the playoffs this season.

After year 1 things looked good just like it looks good after year 1 for Sparano.

and let's not forget that every yar from '02-'07 dolphin fans on this board were talking playoffs and beyond.

You guys went 1-15 two years ago and in preseason there was alot of talk on this board about playoffs, it happens w/ all teams fans.

This year you guys are acting like you are headed to the SB in a year after winning a Brady-less division. You want to talk about unrealism?

I haven't seen once person talk about heading to the SB actually.

You need to get ur facts straigh...Find me some posts that say we are heading to the SB... I for one did not think we would make the playoffs in 2005, 2007, or 2008... so do not classify me in with your false grouping... Do I expect us to be in the playoffs this year, I would say yes, and seeing we are the reigning division champs, that is not unrealistic... Not to mention, with a rookie, overhyped Brady Quinn pt 2 QB in dirty sanchez, a poor back-up in clemens, and a cry baby Thomas Jones and Leony Washington, I fully expect us to sweep the Jets this season

Nothing wrong with Ryan talking up his team.

Funny thing was after that interview he had with Francesa on the FAN a bunch of Jet and Patriot fans called up to discuss it and then a Dolphin fan called up all bent out of shape over it talking about how the Dolphins were going to win the division and Francesa just hand waved him off. It was pretty funny.

Theres nothing wrong with what Ryan is doing. He's just talking up his team. I loved the quote he made about not coming here to kiss Bellichecks rings. That was pretty funny.

All 3 teams have made nice improvements to their teams. It should be a fun season.

I don't know, players talking trash is one thing, but when the head coach starts doing it, I think it is a little embarrassing and unnecessary. The head coach is supposed to be a leader and needs to be the guy keeping things together. They can say what they want to their players, but I think it is better for the team and themselves to stick to the company lines in the media. Talk about how there is always room for improvement and not to get ahead of themselves.

Sparano won the division as a rookie head coach and he told his players after the season that success was not guaranteed in 2009 and they would have to continue to work hard to keep on winning. He is living in the real world and trying not to over hype his players and make them still give it their all.

Ryan is walking and talking like he is going to dominate the East and the rest of the NFL. The players get ****y like they are better then everyone when they were the third best team in the division. The Jets have won nothing recently and now they think they are so great. That kind of attitude usually leads to high expectations and big let downs. Overconfidence is likely going to cost the Jets wins this year.

Play it cool like Sparano and get your players to continue to work hard and you can achieve greatness. No one gave the Dolphins a shot last year, and Sparano made them work hard and look what happened. I don't know, just seems like Ryan is setting the Jets up for failure.

What happens when the Jets lose 9 or 10 games this year after all the talking Ryan is doing? Do you think New York fans are going to go easy on him? Doubt it. Seems like a guy in over his head and doesn't really understand what being a head coach is all about.

yeah, obviously it's all good because he's the jets' headcoach

but when joey porter speaks his mind and says the hype over new england is disrespectful to the AFC east reigning champs, you jump on the topic and go off saying joey is wrong about this and that and start debating...

but if it's the jets' headcoach, or your FS saying your defence will be the best, it's all good... yeah right

what i realized through a few posts, is that you look like you're an unbiased jets fan, but it's just not the case. (nothing wrong with that ! )
