Jets....For Real?

Beats me

I have NO idea if this was a one game fluke or we're gonna be a good team the whole season. Our next game against the Patriots will tell us a lot.
 
One game really doesn't mean much, but there was plenty for Jets fans to be excited about. Sanchez looked really good, as did the D.
 
It's only 1 game so we have to see. No doubt Sanchez is still going to struggle at times and teams might catch up to our blitz but the Jets are a better team than they'd been given credit for this offseason.
 
Sanchez carried the offense, when most thought that the running game would carry the offense. He made some great throws that you would rarely see from a rookie. He was composed and had great footwork. The Pats might be in for a scare. Next week will be competitive.
 
The question is how good the houston defence is. Even in their best year they went 8-8 and in that the offence carried the game.

vanilla 4-3 helped sanchaz also the 2 interception the houston dropped. good start but want to see against a aggresive 3-4 that every qb struggles for the first few yrs.

The Texans defense played good, they were stuffing our run for the first half. They were blitzing us pretty heavily. And they have some studs on defense. Cushing their first round pick is going to be a very good player for a long time.

Sanchez great with his pocket awareness, he moves around so well. And the Texans did not drop 2 INTs, they had 1 that could of been had where Leon ripped the ball. The other was a tipped pass.
For what he did on the road as a rookie is impressive, it was his first real game. And the run game wasn't there, he had to make the plays on 3rd down which he was. He looked better as the game went on.

Our defense looked dominant, Schaub was hit constantly. Andre Johnson did absolutely nothing with Revis on him. Slaton couldn't get anything, the Jets defense dominated their OL. Kris Jenkins had a great game, Bart Scott and David Harris had great games.
And you know what? Vernon Gholston had a good game! He had some QB pressures and had a TFL, hes looking like a football player under Rex.

This was no a fluke with our defense, expect the Jets to have a good defense under Rex. We had talent but were drastically under coached by Mangini, his conservative game plans hurt us.

Also the Jets run game should get better, our OL was missing some blocks they normally wouldn't. And we had near 200 yards rushing.

I think the future is bright for Sanchez though, he looks like the real deal. He has that feel for rush that the greats have, he also doesn't get rattled, hes confident and poised out there.
 
One point I would like to make is D'Brickashaw Ferguson & Darrelle Revis completely shut down the Texans 2 best players, Mario Williams & Andre Johnson. That played as big a part in the outcome of this game as anything and that can't be understated.
 
Not sure if the JETS are for real or if this is a product of the Texans having a horrible defensive backfield and them having ZERO game film on the JETS with Ryan.
 
One game either way doesnt make or define a team. But the Jets were very impressive today. No question about it.

It was great to see Sanchez and Ryan get their first win together and get that out of the way.

The Jets defense deserves a lot of credit today. They shut down the Texans offense from top to bottom. The Jets pass rush was very good and they were getting to Schaub all day and being able to do that is only going to help Revis and the rest of the secondary shut down guys like Andre Johnson.

Mark Sanchez played very well today. I'm not expecting him to play like this every week this season but it was great to see him get off to a good start against a team who everybody seems to think is going to be pretty good. But even if there not it was still good to see a rookie QB go in there and play well.

Dustin Keller and Leon Washington are nice weapons for Sanchez to have.

I thought this was a very important win for the Jets. Obviously every win is nice but the Jets have New England and Tennessee coming in the next two weeks. If they lost this game 0-3 wouldnt have been out of the question.

Zero game film? They could of viewed the Ravens defense for game film on what Rex runs on defense, nice try though.

Yeah, cause clearly the Jets now have Ray Lewis, Ngata, Reed, and Suggs.



Do you really think the JETS are now on par with the Ravens D?





Dillusional maybe?
