Wow, if Cotchery doesn't play it's really gonna hurt their chances to move the ball. We will really be able to stack the line of scrimmage to stop the run.

I am really hoping Sheppard and Rhodes don't play as well as this can only help Henne.

Jets starting wideout Jerricho Cotchery missed his second straight day of practice Saturday with a hamstring injury, making his status for Monday night's game highly uncertain.

And as Mr. Florio pointed out earlier today, Cotchery's potential absence is going to put a lot of pressure on Braylon Edwards to produce in his first game as a Jet, especially with Chansi Stuckey now in Cleveland.

Cotchery was listed as questionable on New York's final injury report, as was starting right tackle Damien Woody. Wayne Hunter will start if Woody isn't able to go after missing practice Saturday.

The Jets will also be shorthanded again in the secondary: cornerback Donald Strickland is out, and Lito Sheppard is listed as doubtful with a quadricep injury. Safety Kerry Rhodes is expected to play despite being listed as questionable.

Why does it matter if we have injuries to the secondary? You guys are gonna rush for 500+ yards anyway.

I think woody and sheppard would be the biggest blows....we know revis will lock down whoever he is on and having your 3rd or 4th best cb out there wont do you much good so that may help our passing game especially on the short routes

and Woody being out should make it a field day for Wake, JP and JT look for lots of pressure of the edge on monday

I'd much rather miss those guy than Rhodes or Cotchery to be honest.

We've done fine in the secondary without Sheppard against some of the best passing attacks in the league. Woody kinda sucks in pass protection, but he's good in the run game. Typical RT, but I think he's a bit worse than average for a pass blocking RT.

I don't know how good Hunter is in PP or RB though. I think Rhodes is going to be a huge part of the game plan this week and obviously without Stuckey we need the experience and chemistry Cotchery brings to the offense.

If Cotchery is out that's huge. Chansi Stuckey is gone. That would leave David Clowney, Brad Smith and Braylon Edwards. Brad Smith is less than mediocre. Clowney is a one-trick pony. Edwards' timing/chemistry with Sanchez is bound to be limited to probably three effective routes at most. It would give us all we need to bottle up both the ground game and Dustin Keller.

that will be the Jet fans EXCUSE after we put a BUTT THRASHING on there behinds Monday Night!!

Go Miami !!

Man lol if Cotchery plays on Monday just let him be covered by Vontae let Cotchery catch the ball once and get tackled by Vontae and he'll be out of the game, Vontae's gonna break him in half. The Jets have a Mediocre offense a really bad passing game 4TDs and 5 INTS LOL. and their running game is barely a top ten. Their strengh is their ability to not allow 3 down conversions by Blitzing 9 guys if necessary but we are number 1 of at making 3 and 4 down conversions lol so lets' see. Last week they lost because Brees figured them out and started to make screen passes to the outside and if Henne can play more relaxed and does not go crazy with all the blitzing then we r good.

I will take your word on that...you know your team many times better than i do.....i just think with you line being a tad thin right now us gettign alot of presure will that lead to mistakes well depends on your WR core...its Cotchery is out then you really start thinking that Sanchez might start forcing it to edwards which will lead to turnovers.....but i think the pressure will be quick and he will just get rid of it or take the sack in those cases.

And if Rhodes is out i think that means guys like hartline or bess might be able to exploit your back up to some extent. but doesnt look like he will be so our WR's will have some work on their hands....its gonna come down to line play liek it always does for these teams

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Also, I dont want to wish or want injuries on anyone. I want to play their best like men and beat them with our best!

Don't get me wrong, losing a starter on the o-line obviously hurts, but I think the dropoff at S and WR would be more significant.

I'd bet on Rhodes playing. I don't know about Cotch though - hammys can linger for a long time and you don't want to press it and risk further injury.
