Is the Bill Parcells line “You are what your record says you are” the best way to describe this Jets (4-4) team?

Rex Ryan and the Jets may not think so, but it’s probably better for them to spend time thinking about their .500 record for the next two weeks — they have a bye in Week 9 — than it is to dwell on how they let another game slip through their hands Sunday against Miami. Should the Jets be 5-3 or 6-2? Possibly. But unless you are Mike Westhoff, reliving Ted Ginn’s two kickoff returns for touchdowns isn’t going to achieve anything. Here is the bottom line for the Jets with the season at its midpoint:

1) They are probably not as good as the 3-0 record they started with after wins against Houston, New England and Tennessee.

2) They are probably not as bad as their 1-4 record since.

What's your point? The best the fins can be after next week is 4-4. 2 of your 3 wins came from a 4-4 team.

The Jets and Fins likely aren't playoff teams in '09.

Don't really see the point here... the Jets are exactly where they should be, all factors considered. I had them as a 7-9/8-8 team going into the year. I didn't change my expectations when they were 3-0 and I still won't.

seriously sweeping the jets makes up for any loses this season. I hate your team that much.

what's your point? 2 of the Jests 4 wins came against the 1-6 Titans and 2-6 Raiders.

the only point that matters the day after the Phins sweep the Jests?

Dolphins > Jests

You might be correct, but we arn't dead yet, as I believe the Jets are.

IF we can sweep NE as well, then the only real tough game left on the schedule is wk. 17 against Pittsburgh.

The Jets finish the season with Atl, Indy, and Cinci....no easy ones there.

The Jets look like an 8-8 team. The Fins do too.

I hate Ted Ginn Jr.

I'd be shocked if we don't end with a better record than the Jets. If we find a way to beat the Patriots, we'll have a very legitimate shot at making the playoffs.

If we lose, we still have a very good chance at finishing 9-7 or better.

well, you are one fan who kept things in perspective...

so I guess we aren't so much addressing you today as all the other jackass fans who were making SB plans after a 3-0 start, or your team full of loudmouths, or the Head Coach who is the biggest (in all possible ways) loudmouth of them all.

well not to pour salt on the wounds but if the jets fans had read these board the past 3 years youd know what weakness the fins st are. Dont know if id brag about losing a game because of specal teams to one of the worst st teams in the league.

I don't think anyone is bragging about it. The fins outplayed us on special teams and earned the win. It was extremely out of character for the Jets to get burnt on special teams like that. They are typically one of the better special teams units in the league.
