Guzman writes that " Trent Green looks like, by far, the best quarterback Miami has had since the Dan Marino era.", but Greg Bedard of the PBP says that "Green has been underwhelming so far in camp."

The real reason the JETS improved last year was the return of Pennington ... and the loss of Herman Edwards. Yes, the line helped, but Pennington is a solid QB - and they were lost without him. Edwards was an example of getting better by subtraction.
You will see just how much better the JETS are this year .... and I will submit, that they won't be much improved from last year, even with the 'great Mangini' at the helm.

I don't know about Mangini, but certainly the return of Penney is a major factor. Every year that Penney's played 12-13 games or more for the Jets, they've made the play-offs -- 2002, 2004, 2006. He doesn't have a great arm and he doesn't put up great stats, but he manages to win games -- and that's what really matters. Ws.
Trent is simply not in Pennington's class. Maybe he was at one time, but my suspicion is that he's more like Vinnie T than Chad P now, which is why KC kept Huard and dealt Green.

These two comments have nothing to do with each other, are you crazy?Guzman writes that " Trent Green looks like, by far, the best quarterback Miami has had since the Dan Marino era.", but Greg Bedard of the PBP says that "Green has been underwhelming so far in camp."

You could argue that Pennington is a better player now, but his health isn't any more of a guarantee than Green and he does not have the same consistent body of work that Trent Green has from KC up until last year. To say Green is not in the same class, however, is ridiculous, regardless of who ends up having a better season.
The title of this thread makes me want to puke.
