Jets release RG Brandon Moore
February 26, 2009 5:13 PM
Posted by ESPN.com's Tim Graham The New York Jets announced Thursday they have released right guard Brandon Moore and running back Noah Herron and waived defensive end Sean Conover.
Moore's move is the only one of significance. He was undrafted out of Illinois and waived by the Jets twice along the way, but persevered enough to start the last 73 games for them.
His dismissal was expected because of financial reasons, although New York Daily News reporter Rich Cimini writes cutting Moore was foolish based on the way Moore's contract was structured.
Moore will be one of the most attractive free-agent guards when doors swing open on the market at 12:01 a.m. Friday.
The Buffalo Bills happen to need one after cutting left guard Derrick Dockery earlier Thursday.
