Jets showing class

why would they trash him? They were ready to make a playoff run with him at the start of training camp. To turn around and say hes garbage when they had all the faith in the world in him a few weeks before would be just plain stupid.

That goes for the fans too.

Good article. All the former Jet players love Penny. Not one of them has talked junk about him. That's cool.

Exactly right, Jet fans give Chad zero respect. I understand they've seen him play more then anyone else, but that doesn't mean everything that's bad about the Jets is Chads fault. I'm not expecting anything from Chad except a smart, accurate QB. We didn't use a first round draft pick on the guy, no expectations.
 
I wouldn't be surprised one bit if Coles wants out next offseason.

What do you think will happen to Chad on this board if he doesn't succeed? 2 years ago daunte was an all-time great then reality hit and now he's hated beyonf belief on here.

I agree Jet fans have been harsh and unappreciative of Chad but that happens w/ all fans. Remember jay Fiedler? All the guy did was win for you and that wasn't good enough.
 
i remember laverneus coles was so pissed when they got rid of Pennington, even though it was for Favre.... he wasn't happy

The same thing would happen. As soon as a player leaves this team, except for retirement, he is talked about like garbage. I even saw a post about Zach today, talking about how we got rid of him just in time because he is getting pushed around at Dallas.

Please don't compare Chad with Jay. Jay couldn't hit the side of a barn if he was leaning on it. Chad has been a far more successful QB. I know you don't want to hear this but Jet fans are ridiculous with their expectations. What do you think will happen with Jet fans if Brett doesn't live up to the hype?

You wouln't know Chad was better by the posts on this board the last 5-6 years. He was constanttly made fun of for his arm but miraculously his arm is good now.

The current version of Chad is alot like Jay in that they don't always look pretty but if healthy and surrounded by enough talent they'll win.

I don't think our expectations are ridiculous, I expected 9-10 wins w/ Chad so if we don't win atleast 10 it will be a disappointment. I didn't want to get favre but he gives us a higher ceiling but a lower floor so if he doesn't pick up the O and we struggle a bit and go 8-8 or 7-9 then I think the fans will be ok w/ it b/c 95% of them wanted favre. I'll be pissed b/c I didn't want favre and my expetctaions w/ Chad were for more wins so anything less than that will be a huge disappointment to me.
