For what it’s worth, the Jets win no more than 2 games the rest of the season.
I legit looked for this thread when the Jets fired Joe Douglas.
I always like it when folks I have "chastened" admit they were RONG, "Lemming" like simpletons.Thread BUMP time!
For the past 3-4 years I've had stubborn fans in this forum arguing with me over this $#itty Jests team.
Over the entire time my arguments against them has been this --- show me, don't tell me! And I've continuously reminded everyone that they haven't qualified for the postseason since 2010 and haven't finished higher than 3rd place in the AFC East since 2015.
YET -- every single year for the past 3-4 years I've had to read how this is the season because the Jests defense is allegedly so damned elite (it isn't) and because they've added this player or that player. It went into hyper-drive when they traded the farm for a near 40-year old Aaron Rodgers. Some of us said --"not so fast! He's almost 40 and not close to what he once was."
Then the excuses poured out once he tore his Achilles, which, again, we reminded the crazy pro-Jests crowd "he's nearly 40!". But they didn't care.
Well, Aaron Rodgers has played in EVERY game for the Jests this season. He has Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, and even got the front office to give up more assets to get Davante Adams.
Their defense still has the allegedly best corner in football (I disagree), along with the majority of the players that have been part of that defense for the past several seasons.
What has it added up to so far this season? 3-8. They've fired their head coach. They've fired their GM. All by game 11.
They are 1.5 games behind our Dolphins, who lost Tua Tagovailoa for 3+ games. Now, they could very well end up beating the Dolphins once or twice this season. We shall see. But that isn't the point.
The point is and always has been --- can you guys stop lauding the Jests until they actually accomplish something, such as finishing higher than 3rd in their own division AND qualifying for the postseason (as our Dolphins have done the past two seasons)?
Lastly, I ask the biggest proponents of the Jests on this forum to step up, man up and finally admit you were WRONG! Way WRONG!
The results speak for themselves and are indisputable. Their record the past 4 seasons to date are: 4-13, 7-10, 7-10, 3-8.
While this current season is not over yet, one more loss guarantees the Jests a NINTH consecutive losing season. With their remaining schedule consisting of SEA, @MIA, @JAX, LAR, @BUF, MIA, I'm more than willing to go out on a limb and predict at least one loss there. Even if they somehow manage to run the table, 9-8 is nothing to crow about. It does not represent the level of team you all have been pushing upon us.
So, again, step up and admit you were wrong AND, more importantly, STFU about the Jests and keep their name out of our thread titles in the main Dolphins forum until they actually do something.
That is all.
I always like it when folks I have "chastened" admit they were RONG, "Lemming" like simpletons.
They need to "'fess up" more often. - LOL
A "bit" more elegant than my post. - LOLMy thing about this topic is -- those people were so demonstrative, unrelenting, and absolutely certain about their opinions. The topic kept getting brought up again and again each season. Each time I'd push back offering up the same reasoning that I restated above -- I was getting bombarded by numerous members telling me how wrong I was and how elite the Jests defense is.
I ask again, where are all those stubbornly defiant people now? Why aren't we getting the same tone and push back as before?
We all know the answer. They know they were and are wrong. It's been played out and proven. So do the right thing and cop to it. Because a similar argument is going to happen in the future and those people are going expect the same in return (if/when they are right).
Most of all, I firmly believe topics devoted to other/rival teams belong in the general NFL thread, not the main Miami Dolphins forum. If I want to see thread topics devoted to other teams, I can visit the general NFL forum on this site or fan forums dedicated to those other teams.
But they purposely post them in this forum because they know it is less likely to get read in the other forum. And there's a good reason for that. Because the VAST majority here cares about the Dolphins and do not want to be waterboarded with topics focused primarily on the teams we detest.
Yeah, I'm not one to start new threads unless I can't locate a relevant one. My advice is to use the SEARCH feature located in the upper-right. I easily found this thread using it.
Rodgers quit on his teams in Green Bay like 12 out of 14 seasons. At some point he gets in his feelings and picks up his ball and heads home. Most of the times it's been in playoff games but I expect it to happen around week 9 in 24'.
From June. I was like 2 weeks off.
Aged well happily :)I mean I can’t continue to make this stuff up man.
First the Roger’s went to Egypt during mandatory practices drama, after scolding the team for not being all in.
Then Hassan Reddick scenario which is just so cool.:) nice job on that Douglas.
Then the news that saleh “dead man walking” as I’ve been calling him for a year“…as former players say he’s just sucking the teet of Roger’s lol.
Check this new one out… strait from jet magazine :)
So much for Lewis Cine becoming the tenth first-round pick on the Jets roster. After multiple reports said yesterday that Cine was on his way to Florham Park to become a Jet, he has had a change of heart.
Instead Cine will head upstate to join the Buffalo Bills according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.”
lol this is beautiful man, where are all those jet fans that like to come to the site?
Thought so.
