Jets | Team may go after J. James

Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports the New York Jets may be interested in signing unrestricted free-agent OG Jeno James (Dolphins).

I guess this means Kendall is on his way out, and Im wondering if we sign Kendall, since reports have stated we are interested in him.Is he is an upgrade over James? Another thing there is battle brewing for the LG spot and it appears we will be seeing Liweinski and Mormino try to battle it out during camp. If Mormino beats out Liweinski, I wouldnt be abosed to see him be the LG starter come Sept.

I've said this in a few other threads. Having Kendall, if we sign him of course, means having both G's on either side of Satele with experienc at C. This will help out Satele with making the line calls and could make a pretty significant difference IMO if Kendall is signed. Plus, it gives Mormino a year or two to learn from Kendall.

Maybe they're worried about losing Kendall. Oh how sweet it would be to get him. I would go as far to guarentee playoffs if we got Kendall and Green.

I definitely wouldn't mind the Kendall at LG . . . I think its a pretty decent upgrade over Liwenski and like RoninFin said, it would really help Big Sam on the upcomming season and give us much needed depth and veteran experience for our young line.

Big Sam, Mormino, Esera, Toledo, Alabi, Rex and Carey . . . these guys ALL have 3 years or less in the NFL . . . this line is VERY young, but loaded w/ potential . . . and may become real good as soon as this season.

ANy worth while DE or Safties out there we do have some depth at OL even though it is young. Kendall would be nice though!

Another former Fin going the way of Byars, Cox, Izzo, Huard.....Why do the other AFC East teams find it necessary to sign all these guys we used to have, other than the obvious fact that they probably have inside information to possibly share........

We can do it with-out them if it's going to happen.

Yeah but I'm saying our chances are that much greater. Where are we the weakest right now? It's on the o-line and under center. We would get an all-pro guard and one of the better QBs in this league with those two.

are you kidding. that is so delusional. Kendall is decent but he is coming towards the end of his career at 31 and he is not close to all pro. And since when is Green one of the better QB's in the NFL. You guys have to face it Culpepper will never be the same with his knee and Green will never be the same with his head. He took a hard shot and i dont ever think he will ever get over the hump mentally or physically

An old guard and an even older QB are going to put Miami in the playofs, huh? :sidelol: Maybe if Miami was in the NFC, but it's not, so reality says you're gonna be eating crow if you make that guarantee, Travis.

The problem with the Fins OL isn't at guard it's at tackle! If Carey can pull it off at LT, more power to him, but he was a guard in college and a decent RT in the pros -- that's not the road to a first class LT. As for Shelton, well, he proved he couldn't play left tackle with three teams (Arizona, Cleveland, Miami), so maybe he can make a serviceable RT. I think Hudson Houck is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic with this bunch.

They may just sign James for depth or to compete for a spot (with Moore). Kendall is supposed to report to mini camp tomorrow. I think that Kendall will be on the jets roster come opening day.

Thought y'all were talking about Javarris James, because I know how you guys in New York have Hurricane-fever.

Ah big deal, I get to dish it out if I'm right and I don't see why the Dolphins can't be good this year. I also find it a little errie that you adress me by my name. :escape:

I understand the problem you're speaking of at tackle, but I don't feel it's the issue you make it to be. LJ Shelton isn't a left tackle but played well at right guard last year. He's huge and I think he can handle RT. Carey failed the first time around at LT, but now he's a much more established player. Grabbing Kendall would just make the OL better as a whole and would guarentee us of our 5 starters.

He was moved because D-Mac wouldnt play RT...He looked ok at LT when he was in that spot.
