"We're going to utilize out entire defensive roster the next couple of weeks and we'll get a chance to evaluate some guys who haven't played as much,"

There was no official word on whether they will take the same approach on offense, but it wouldn't be surprising to see wide receiver Saalim Hakim, running back Alex Green and tight end Zach Sudfeld in expanded roles.

This should be an advantage for the Dolphins from a talent and experience perspective. But, the backups will be playing extra hard for sure.

This time of year, a lot of teams are relying on backups.

We beat NE w. a secondary full of backups and starting NT out. A backup sealed the game.

Sometimes backups step up and make plays. Gotta be ready to play no matter who we face.

In a way it kinda makes sense, if your season isn't going anywhere, give some of the depth guys a crack at it. No harm in giving them some reps to see what they can do in a real game.

Depends on the coach's status and I'm not sure what Rex's is. His job might be on the line. If he feels it is, I'm curious how he plays the next two games.

Last time I checked we play the Bills on Sunday and the Jets don't exist until we get a W in Buffalo!

That's why I'll feel SO much better about our playoff outlook if we're able to walk out of Buffalo with a W this weekend. The Jets are NOT coming to Miami and ruining our party with so much on the line.

Only thing is that the unknown makes it a little difficult to gameplay for. But, you have to win these games, period.

Matt Simms > Geno Smith. So I hope he's not one of the backups who plays.

I don't think these final two games will have any impact on rex's future with the jets. I'm sure they have already made their minds up one way or the other.

Agreed with the game planning for unknown players. There are a number of times it seems that have backups come into a game against the Fins and played like pro-bowlers.
