"The star of Wednesday's morning practice was the "Wildcat" formation, which was introduced to the NFL last season by the Miami Dolphins and caused quite a stir around the league."

"The Jets spent much of the morning practice working on the formation with Leon Washington and Brad Smith taking snaps, and it was fitting considering the verbal sparring currently going on between Jets coach Rex Ryan and Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder."

"QBs Kellen Clemens and Mark Sanchez were so-so in the morning session. Each completed three of six passes with a sack. "Both quarterbacks had their moments, good and bad, said Ryan. ..."

yeah, i'd try the wildcat too if i were them.

every team in the nfl will experiment with the wildcat this season. that's why we added another element to it by drafting Pat White.

they have one of the most dangerous players in the league in Leon Washington dude is fast and gains huge chunks of yards but thats about all they have.

yeah, and to think Leon was called by Saban telling him we were going to draft him, but instead chose Hagan. He said that's why he plays us with an extra big chip on his shoulder.

Oh man, that would totally suck for us if Hagan hadn't worked out and Washington did.

Oh wait.

I think they were using the Wildcat tp get the defense accustomed to defending it, thats all.

This Prisco guy on CBS sports thinks the wildcat is a gimmick used by teams without quarterbacks........maybe thats it.

Just for the record, we were using this formation back as long ago as 2001 w/ vinny split out wide and Lamont Jordan taking the direct snap. We used it once-twice a year for a few years not as much as you guys used it(although you didn't use it as much as people think) but I'm not sure why this never gets mentioned?

Tell me about it, i hate this time of year!!

Yeah,we've been using this formation for YEARS!We've used it more in recent years too since we drafted Brad Smith. We just didn't call it the Wildcat because it's been around for about 60 years and was referred to by other names like the single wing. It's no big innovation..........
