As of 1 p.m., the cheapest list price on the resale market for the game was $15, 70 percent below face value, while the average price was $73.21, according to ticket market aggregator TiqIQ. That's the cheapest ticket to a game in MetLife Stadium, the home for the New York Giants and Jets, since it opened in 2012.

TiqIQ spokesman Chris Matkovich said that more than 4,000 tickets remain on the market, more than double the usual volume this close to game time. As of 1 p.m., on ticket resale site StubHub, there were more than 400 tickets selling for under $25.

"With the way the Jets are playing, Monday night is much more attractive at home than at the game," said Jason Berger, managing partner of New York-based All Shows Ticket Service. "Then consider that we're coming off a long holiday weekend. That makes things even worse."

Fans looking to take advantage of the Jets being 2-9 are in a perfect spot. A ticket tonight to the Coaches Club, which gives the ticket holder an on-field view, is selling for as low as $272. The face value on that ticket is $700, plus at least another $194 in PSL fees.

Barring a miracle finish, the Jets will endure their worst season since 2007 when the team went 4-12.

Berger said the Jets haven't begun massive discounting since setting prices high with the stadium's opening. But he predicts that, next season, the team will do what the New York Yankees did -- provide the highest end buyers with complimentary tickets.

I will say the Author/Editor should be fired. MetLife opened in 2010 not 2012.

:idk:

this is not going to be a fun game to attend for me.

Probably a good idea by the Jets to get some fans in the seats.

these are seats that have been sold, has nothing to do w/ the Jets. The Jets aren't lowering prices, seats have been sold. these are fans not attending and trying to sell.

I believe the problem lies in every sports town. You put a poor product on the field and people will find other places to spend their hard earned dollars. Especially in a town like NY where the Jets are not only competing with another NFL Franchise, but all of the other things NY has to offer.

Sports franchises will soon be catering to the elite as those ticket prices are astronomical.

Here in Toronto, we get flamed for not paying to go see the Bills (Ya I know the Bills!) But we are an NFL starved market. But when they started bringing up the Bills here for the Toronto Series and tickets STARTED at $400, we we're stupid enough to take one up the behind just to see the game. When we know we could drive an hour to the south and get a comparable ticket for like $80. We could drive there, get a hotel, see the game, party a little all for less than 2 tickets to the Toronto Series.

When I see ticket prices like that and I think sports organizations need to be brought back down to earth.

Correct.

Season ticket holders trying to under cut each other in order to flush seats and at the very least recoup some cash.

Problem is the 'small' market and flooded product.

Looks like not many Jets fans want to attend even with prices at the bottom.

Fins fans should be eating these up!

there may be a majority of phin fans there.

Bought my mezzanine seats for $60. No joke, never seen such a cheap seat
