Jim Rome is classic

Jim Rome is the best sports talk radio host in the country. And because he's critical of the Dolphins qb situation? Every football analyst is critical of our QB situation.

"Ricky Williams is talking like someone whose burned a few too many blunts"-Jim Rome

And he's one of the most successful sports talk hosts of all time, so he must be doing something right.

He is doing something right for ratings. He's appealing to a young group of "smackers" that want to have an Oprah session on sports. His usual listener is jobless and spends their time writing their "takes" down so they can call in and pretend not to be reading it on the radio. Oh joy.

:D

For one, "Ears" has a good record because of his defense. And secondly, with Jim Rome...I can't remember which coach or player quoted this, but it read: "Sharp-tongued critics are the vultures that feed on the dead after the real warriors have fought the battle." Rome can be entertaining whether he does or does not side with the Fins, but he tries a little too hard to be controversial in his analyses of most everything.

Jim Rome really pisses me off a lot of the time (especially when he bashes soccer) and he isn't all that knowledgable but I would be lying if I said that I didn't find him entertaining. I don't listen to him on the radio but I do watch him on ESPN. I don't like him but I do watch him.

Is his show really still doing good?

It went from a 7PM primetime slot to like 12:30

Jim Rome is a leech on the unmentionable bits of sports journalism. He's not informative, he doesnt really seem to know anything more then your average fan, he's got probabaly the absolute worst voice in the business. He's a white Stuart Scott with less street cred.

His only saving grace is that look of pure terror when Jim Everett flipped that table.

By saying this it's pretty apparent that you just don't get it. He doesn't profess to be an inside guy and he doesn't break stories, he entertains; that's his job. The whole thing is an act that's put on for the sake of comedy and that's about it. Jump off the "too serious" bus for a minute, listen to it for its comedic value and enjoy it for what it is.

I listen to the Rome show every day at work.

It is damn hilarious.

Rome says it how it is, he's not an average sports reporter who tells us everything we know or what might happen. He says things on how he feels about it. I respect him for saying whats on his mind and not what he's told.

He's very critical about the dolphins orginization, but you got to admit this offseason has been one of the ugliest for the dolphins.

I think Rome's hilarious. I don't take him too seriously. Maybe that's why I can laugh. Granted, I don't get to hear him much. And he was a total azz 10 years ago (I hated him). But he's definitely an intelligent guy. Might not always show it. But he's pretty smart. And he's funny.

Surely you realize that is not true. If his average listener was jobless, the advertisers would not advertise on his show.

Jim Rome is a wanna-be bully. But he just comes across as silly. His entire professional career has been a gimmick.

I thought this room was dolphin talk? Is Jim ROme a dolphin? can someone explain this to me. Is he a Dolphin now? did we just sign him?
