Jim Turner has resigned from Texas Tech, joins Fins as O-Line coach

I sure hope this influx of this "Texas" team coaches was far better than the last influx of another "Texas" team of coaches !!!!

I'm getting more and more excited about what the dolphins are doing with this new regime, this season will be so AWESOME!!! I can feel it :hump:

Mike Sherman with some autonomy, eh?

Kinda saw this coming but yeah I am a little concerned about the Aggization of the offensive coaching staff. I'd rather the staff be full of guys that Joe Philbin knows and Joe Philbin hires, therefore the coaches feel like they owe Joe Philbin for their jobs.

Zac Taylor and Jim Turner will arguably have more of a relationship with Mike Sherman than Joe Philbin. Dan Campbell will end up somewhere in between. I hope this is the end of the Texas A&M coaches.

how many more coaches do we still need? I know we got OC,DC,DL,LB,OL,ST, and I think we have WR too?.....we still need RB and QB plus DB?

Ozzy rules!!

You might right. A criticism that was made of Philbin at hiring time was his ability to hire a staff. So maybe Philbin cannot land quality coaches.

HOWEVER, I will give the benefit of the doubt to Philbin that he trusts a quality coach like Sherman to hire the all important coaching position as O-Line coach.

Personally I don't see that criticism. I think he already landed a big fish in Mike Sherman. I have no problem with the three coaches he was able to retain from the last staff. In fact I think it's kind of a feather in his cap that he was able to convince Kacy Rodgers to stay on.

I thought under Dan Campbell, Anthony Fasano arguably played the best he's ever played, maybe not from a production standpoint but from watching what he was doing on the field I thought he took the most strides this year, and of course I think we were all intrigued with how Charles Clay came along once the coaches took their heads out of their butts a little and let him play and be coached like a Tight End instead of a fullback.

Jeff Nixon did something I never thought possible. He turned Reggie Bush into an every down runner, and by the end even got him running well between the tackles. That's a feather in his cap. I guarantee the rest of the league didn't think Reggie had that in him.

George Edwards is a good Linebackers Coach get, IMO. I don't know that he needed to be a DC in Buffalo but I think he's a good LBs Coach, pretty well respected around the league.

And as I've said before, for Kevin Coyle to get the kind of production out of that group in Cincinnati over the years...pretty good. I think Coyle is an average Defensive Coordinator hire. He might be bad, he might be good, but at least you can look at how his units have performed and actually sit down and say, I see why he's being promoted. He's in line for that promotion.

I think Mike Sherman is a way above average hire, IMO.

Jeff Nixon hasn't been retained(yet) to my knowledge.

It's not been announced, but he, Puloka, Fipp and Corrao are listed on the website as coaches on the team. All other coaches from last year have been removed, whether they've found a new job or not. Excepting of course the guys that they've already announced they're retaining (Rizzi, Rodgers, Krein, Campbell).
