Jim Turner has resigned from Texas Tech, joins Fins as O-Line coach

Only reason I'm a little iffy on this hire is he has been nothing but a college coach, and only a BCS level coach since 2008. Now he did put together some decent OLs for the Aggies (including Bruce Matthews sons), and he is a West Coast Offense guy. I like what I hear from him, but it's a bit of a risky hire.

Even if we were to hire Rossley to be QB coach, I'd be somewhat okay with it, because he has spent a lot of time in the pros as a coach. And I'm willing to give Turner a chance but it is a risk.

And the staff is a fine staff. Not elite nor are they awful. It's a good staff of teachers and to build what Philbin wants.

He's the opposite of Joe Philbin as an OL Coach, which makes the hire interesting.

Watching him in action and watching him interviewed he's like the Boston version of Tony Sparano.

Kinda saw this coming but yeah I am a little concerned about the Aggization of the offensive coaching staff. I'd rather the staff be full of guys that Joe Philbin knows and Joe Philbin hires, therefore the coaches feel like they owe Joe Philbin for their jobs.

Zac Taylor and Jim Turner will arguably have more of a relationship with Mike Sherman than Joe Philbin. Dan Campbell will end up somewhere in between. I hope this is the end of the Texas A&M coaches.

I do trust these moves more than the prior regimes moves because Sherman and Philbin go back 30+ years. They are very familiar with each other and they seem to be on the proverbial same page. I think the coaches will appreciate Philbin for being in their new coaching positions.

Yes...this is the perfect coach for jerry! Motivate his a#$! Get in his face and make him reach his full potential
