Jim Turner has resigned from Texas Tech, joins Fins as O-Line coach

Wow, that guy seems crazy. In this case, crazy is good for an offensive line coach.

Hell, i almost choked i laughed so hard! The guys on the floor looking at the linemens stance saying "its gotta be 2 inches" the linemen gets down and he yeahs "oh what the hell was that, that was 2 and a quater inches".......LMFAO!!!!!

Personally I don't see that criticism. I think he already landed a big fish in Mike Sherman. I have no problem with the three coaches he was able to retain from the last staff. In fact I think it's kind of a feather in his cap that he was able to convince Kacy Rodgers to stay on.

I thought under Dan Campbell, Anthony Fasano arguably played the best he's ever played, maybe not from a production standpoint but from watching what he was doing on the field I thought he took the most strides this year, and of course I think we were all intrigued with how Charles Clay came along once the coaches took their heads out of their butts a little and let him play and be coached like a Tight End instead of a fullback.

Jeff Nixon did something I never thought possible. He turned Reggie Bush into an every down runner, and by the end even got him running well between the tackles. That's a feather in his cap. I guarantee the rest of the league didn't think Reggie had that in him.

George Edwards is a good Linebackers Coach get, IMO. I don't know that he needed to be a DC in Buffalo but I think he's a good LBs Coach, pretty well respected around the league.

And as I've said before, for Kevin Coyle to get the kind of production out of that group in Cincinnati over the years...pretty good. I think Coyle is an average Defensive Coordinator hire. He might be bad, he might be good, but at least you can look at how his units have performed and actually sit down and say, I see why he's being promoted. He's in line for that promotion.

I think Mike Sherman is a way above average hire, IMO.

I hope Joe is keeping those coaches for those reasons you listed and it is not that he cannot find quality guys.

texas tech oline coach...is this guy the same guy that runs that really wide gaps between his lineman blocking scheme when mike leach was there???

Where is he projected to go CK ? I KNOW you've look at this guys tape.

There are a number of people who think he may go top 10. Worst case scenario I have a hard time believing he'd make it to our 2nd round pick.

A former Marine with no voice left. This OL is in for a long, hot summer. lol

There are no former Marines. There are active duty Marines, reserve duty Marines, and retired Marines. Once a Marine, always a Marine.

Which means a long, hot summer.

I don't care what anyone says, I love this hire and all the others. Philbin has been more exciting then when Sparano got hired. It just seems exciting to see what happens this year with a full training camp. So what that he has only been coaching in college, how else do people get into the NFL coaching?

The best part I like is a lot of these people have great chemistry. A lot of people will be on the same page.

No he was just hired after Mike Sherman was fired from Texas A&M. He was the O-line coach for TAMU last year...actually has a pretty good resume.

I like the hire. He's been very successful at the college level and he obviously knows how to develop players. I think that's been missing here for a while...someone that can develop the players and get the most out of them.
