Jim Turner

Well whether he deserves it or not, he'll likely be the fall guy in the issue. Philbin and the players have protection from various sources. The "middle manager" (Turner) will be shown the door, and the perception will be (rightfully or not) "problem solved."

If a classroom teacher spending 8 hours a day with a small class of students sees one of them acting out in a disturbing fashion, either turning a blind eye to this behavior or applying self-imposed pressure to conform modifying the symptoms but either way ignoring the root causes then it's on his watch. Now an entirely different question is whether that teacher reported this troubling and maybe violent behavior to the "principal" or not, where the buck stops, but either way, if the teacher allowed this behavior to fester, it's on him first and foremost.

Think of the OL as a school chorus as if any squad has to be in sync, it's the OL on a football team. If you're the glee coach, one discordant voice even in a large chorus is hard to ignore and will screw up the performance every time.

He could not deserve it if he had his finger squarely on the pulse of the problem and was trying to address it with the players involved while keeping his boss abreast of the issue in the manner instructed.

Remember, the **** rolls downhill in organizations, and although the players are at the bottom of the hill, they have a union. Turner has nothing. He's for all intents and purposes at the "bottom" here.
Though obviously we are working off of speculation being reported, if this has been happening since at least OTAs, Turner doesn't have his finger on the pulse. I find it hard to believe that this is something that has only just started occurring.

It's possible that he has known what's been going on since the beginning, has reported it to his superior, and been told to continue to monitor the situation closely and report back with details, which he may have been doing. In other words, he could've been doing his job as instructed all along.

We don't know what the inner workings of this are, of course. My only point is that it's possible Turner is not at fault at all in the issue.

He may have been tasked to accomplish nothing more than a "liaison" role in this. It's not like he has control over how his offensive linemen behave or how his superior wants the issue addressed.

Although he's tasked with coaching and developing these players, he doesn't have a "fatherhood" role in relation to his offensive linemen, where any behavior on their part is automatically a reflection on him.

The line has been below average anyway he can go now
