Jimmy Johnson...a class act

You need to post w/ all the info! Not type 2 lines to get your post #'s up! You failed to mention it in the quote I replied to. If I miss it in the quoted post than I apoligze to the quoted. I never quoted your or any post about Marino's som having it. B/c then I know you HAVE IT!
You wanted me to reply to a post that didn't have facts. Show me any link where Flutie made $$$ of the flakes. Don't give me your opinion, I want facts.

He apologized b/c Miami is noted as one of the highest class org.s in the game. (if not the claaiest) There was heat and the BRASS in the org wanted him to. You really think he and his ego care. He is a pshyc. major, he knows what he did and he thought it through. He just really cares less. As do 99% of football fans. I talk to Viking fans', they laughed at it and thought it was funny. It never hurt any of them!

Firget about whining, it was years ago. When a ref blows a call that cost a game, then I will lend an ear!

It took you this long to admit it?

Ah, it's considered a whine because a bills fan said it. But when a finfan points out a different example about his lack of class it's not whining. All I did was state another example, but since I'm a bills fan, it's taken differently. Go figure :shakeno:

He apologized, nuff said :D.

I've never felt that JJ was classy. That's why it bothered me when Shula lowered himself to his level by attacking him.

It was a whine b/c they whined, not b/c they were Bills fans. They took an act that was not an offense as an offense. Bringing it up again just sounds like sour grapes, or more whining.

Oh, and that much more(the 5 cents a box) went to the foundation thanks to JJ.
Who's your source? The former info minister of Iraq? and you wonder why I question your posts regarding the subject.

With Don Shula still lashing out at his successor 5 years after the fact, saying that Marino "only had one coach" and such, I'm glad that Jimmy is taking the high road with this. He could easily counter with some verbage of his own, maybe even pointing to Marino's inconsistency during the last couple of years, but that would take some of the spotlight off Danny and his HOF induction...and he knows it. For that, I am thanking Jimmy Johnson.

Now were the inconsistencies due to an impotent offensive coordinator and collection of scrubs for surrounding "talent"? Most definitely, but still he chooses to remain silent and let Dan enjoy his moment. I'm drinking a green lizard in your honor, coach.

Drink whatever you want but I would not say Jimmy Johnson is a class act. He behaved very badly in relation to Shula historically. He gloated and acted arrogant, because he is. And his last great act of destruction, pushing for the hiring of Dave Wannstadt, is not lost on this fan. The ultimate in classlessness was hiring that jackass to be our coach!

I had 1 post about one of his classless examples. You guys jumped on that post when all I did was the same thing other finfans did on this thread. Get real, I have yet to see you guys call the other finfans whiners for bringing up another example. :goof:

So your telling a HC with sb's stooped down to try and pump up his team by such actions?Who did JJ think he was coaching, a bunch of high school players?

Don't be a hypocrite, Flutie's son is autistic. If you were Flutie , you'd be peeved by such an act especially by a supposed professional HC. It's probably why Dan didn't like JJ, his kid is also autistic.

If Marino had his own Marino flakes that was created to help autistic research and Mularkey stomped on it, you finfans would be whining.

I couldn't believe the stupidity of the whole Flutie Flakes situation. I am no fan of Jimmy Johnson, but he did nothing wrong in that situation. The Flutie Flakes became a symbol of Flutie's amazing comeback to the NFL. The people in the stands did not buy the Flakes to help cure autism, they bought it because Flutie was having a good year.

The whole, "ripping up the Flutie Flakes was like tearing up my son" was one of the most pathetic things I have ever heard. Might as well say, "When people pour milk on Flutie Flakes it is like pouring milk on my son".

He made $$$ off them, although it was minimal. I thought I heard he got a one time payment for the deal. It may have been payment for running the Flutie foundation or something.

He and his wife helped raise $2mill for the "Giving Back Fund" and then later wanted the funds back to set up their own charitable operation. Why? The funds were donated and raised for the Giving Back foundation and not given in mistake. Why get the funds back? B/C charities pay the operators very well.(see the united way)

Look at the RW or AJ vs. Gus threads and you'll see that accusation against finfans quite often (by finfans). The Flutie flakes incident is this nonissue that is only brought up by bills fans. It is there own special whine. So whenever it's brought up someone is likely to call it what it is, a whine.

My point was not that exactly 5 cent from each box went to the fund, but rather, that funds and charities are expensive to run. Money gets splashed all over and are rather ineficeint. That is why the biggest sports draw and $$$ magnent stopped his foundation. he said he would rather donate to another charity or donate directly than to have the foundation spend millions to operate. That person?

It didn't bother me either. But it obviously bothered some people that JJ had to come out and apologize. Do you have an autistic child? Please if it was Dan MArino , you guys would be pissed.

The Flakes were not done by Flutie. They were done by a Pittsburgh company named PLB Sports Inc. They have worked w/ may athletes' like Doug and Cal

No, I can honestly say I would not be pissed! I woud just say how freaking dumb it was and laugh at the mentality. Just like you did! Then hope that Marino would light it up!
