"J immy Johnson is ready to make the prediction: The Dolphins are going to the playoffs.

''A lot of people underestimated [Miami's] talent. There's a lot of talent,'' the Fox analyst and former Dolphins coach said by phone. ``They are a playoff team. Kevin Carter and Vonnie Holliday have played well. Randy McMichael is having a huge year. Gus Frerotte is playing as well as I've seen him play.

``I was curious how Zach Thomas would adjust to a new system, and he's performing extremely well. Nick Saban has a total focus on getting the job done. Having Scott Linehan has been a huge advantage, and Hudson Houck is doing a great job. They look like a 9-, 10-win team.''"

Is he a hipocrite ?

If we can win on the road today I will say 9 or 10 win game is very likely. IF we win on the road against a good Tampa Bay team next week I would say that 9 or 10 wins would be the least that I would expect.

FINS are AWESOME!!!!

Everytime I hear the name Jimmy Johnson, I can't help but think of John Avery (Could be "the next Barry Sanders"), Jerris McPhail, Stanley Pritchett, Yatil Green, Larry Shannon, Wannstache...the list goes on and on.

Thanks for the plague Jimmy, now go away.

Why would you say he's a hypocrit ?? He made predictions, much like everyone (in the media) did based on last year's performance and the dismal preseason we had. That is all they had to base any predictions on, so it was 'right' that they predicted us as having little chance to improve. Of course, now 3 games into the season and the fact that our division is weakened with injuries, the media will be giving us a better chance to have a winning season. It's just natural...now, if we lose the next 2 games, all those people will jump right back off the bandwagon...that is the way of things...look at the preseason predictions of the Lions and the Jests and the JIlls...they all were going to the SB, but 4 weeks later....the story is different....No, JJ was not a hypocrit...Saban and the team changed his mind...

I thought I remember Jimmy saying before the season started that the Fins might be better than people think...If he did, he wouldn't be a hypocrite anyway. Either way, we all have the right to change our mind. Besides, I am not totally convinced anyway that we will make the playoffs. (And neither is Saban) This is a process. Let it happen.

Other famous JJ quotes

"Larry Shannon is a better value pick than Randy Moss"

"Kareem Abdul Jabbar is an underrated back"

"John Avery is our home run hitter"

"Dave Wannstedt is a good coach"

"Brad Jackson is the next Zach Thomas"

"We are going to run the football this season"

Lets get through today with a win then hopefully that sets up a matchup with 5-0 tampa bay...We win there with RICKY back on the sidelines then watch out, we will make some noise...SABAN for president!!!

For all his faults on drafting offense..dont forget who built one of the best defense's in the NFL for about 5-6 years....Jimmy was NEVER a X's and O's kinda coach, he was a great motivator and great talent evaluator (even though he outsmarted himself in the 1st rounds)...he found some Pro bowl players in the late rounds.

If there is anything Iam bitter about JJ's tenure as coach it was that he didnt stay longer!! Can you imagine what he wouldve done with our 2002 team!!!

Yeah. Let's forget about the fact that Jimmy is also the guy that picked Sam Madison in the SECOND ROUND, Patrick Surtain in the SECOND ROUND, Jason Taylor in the THIRD ROUND, and Zach Thomas in the FIFTH ROUND. Show me another GM that drafted four All-Pro players in what amounted to three drafts.

Crap. Jus twhen I was starting to feel good about the team. A Jimmy Johnson prediction - the kiss of death. Anybody remember when he came in here predicting a superbowl win within 3 years? The guys a mouth who got lucky in his early drafts because he came from college and knew the talent. He's a motivator but that's all. He's the most overrated coach ever IMO. Go ahead and kill me for this post, but I didn't like him when he came here, and I still don't. Too arrogant, and I'm disappointed to see his face on the homepage.

There, go ahead and nail ne, but that's my opinion.
