Jimmy Johnson Rips Culpepper

JJ hit the nail right on the head. CP needs an outstanding WR to make him look good, we don't have that. We have three #2 in Chambers, Booker, and Hagen. A #3 in Welker. Vick could be a good return guy.

IF we go with CP we need that #1 and an outstanding OL. We don't have either and the NFL has changed. The best OL will give you 3-4 seconds, occasionally 4-5 (the offensive scheme dictates how often).

:dolphins: I understand what he is trying to say but aronn brooks had randy this year and he didnt throw 39 touchdowns. so its not like it was randy doing all the work.
not all the touchdowns were thrown to randy
any ways culpepper was never a micheal vick type runner he got what he could he didnt take defence apart with his legs i think is he could throw the deep ball to chris chambers he will change his mind
thats what cambers is better at anyways

He's saying the truth about the success moss and pep had together.

When he starts next season he's going to do the same thing though ....

All this wisdom from a man who gets on TV and is pushing his wife's credit card campaigne. We see who's wearing the pants in JJ's house! If that blowhard wanted to have an opinion about Miami that mattered, then he sould have stuck around when the going got tough instead of running away and pushing Wanny on us. After all we all know how right he was about Wanny, how could he be wrong about Culpepper?

I say we move up in the draft and get CJ. W/CJ and Chambers that would really spark this offense. No way teams double team chambers all the time. and he could be moved to the slot, w/cj out wide.

Sorry for the caps:

MOSS WAS HURTTTTTTTT most of the year. IT WASN'T MOSS during his MVP runner up year. Nate Burleson got paid in Seattle, Marcus Robinson had a strong year as well. JJ is just trying to get in the papers.

JJ is right.
I would also believe a guy that has a few rings on his finger over a first year head coach.

Scott Linehan does know CP from his days in Minny, but JJ did build a great team in Dallas that won three Super Bowls.

IMO, CP is a average at best QB, + we don't have a true #1 receiver. CC could be, Booker, Hagan are nothing to be scared about and Welker is nothing more than a #3. Vick, did he see any playing time?

Good read, pretty much sums up my feelings on the issue.

This is the same Jimmy Johnson that thought it was a good idea to take audibles away from Dan Marino... and was so desperate to have a "running team" that he worked two different guys out of football?

What Jimmy Johnson has to say about football stopped being notable more than a decade ago. Any Dolphin fan old enough to remember Johnson's regrettable stay in Miami should take this comment as the best sign we could have that Culpepper should be named starter for the coming season.

Good hair for tv, though.

You assessment is not really accurate IMO. Moss played a significant factor in 2004. When Culpepper had a healthy Moss to throw to his average game was 2.73 TD passes, 322 yards per game to 1.8 TD passes and 236 yards per game without him.

Johnson is speaking the truth, he had success! If Culpep dont change his ways , lets face it he wasnt using his head last year.. he was looking down wrs , led to ints.. you dont stare down your wide outs and that says something. ave qb,not using your head, fundamentals, or he didnt study the playbook enough, it was obvious he was confused out there and it wasnt because he was hurt! your leg hurting you dont contribute to staring down recievers , looking confused, holding on to the ball ,taking sacks. that tells me he didnt know the playbook and or cant read defences(period) you can bet we will find out soon enough if he wants to stay in the nfl or he might be working at burger king(may i take your order) dont get me wrong , im not a cpep hater . I want him to apply himself and win but it takes hard work.

What did CJ just run, a 4.35? The guy is a beast. I'd give up a lot to get him.
