Promising lineman Joe Berger has been claimed by Dalas. A boneheaded move by Saban cost us big time.

Yeah, Berger was our most dominant lineman. And he did that without ever starting a game. This will cost us big, the season is shot for sure now.

yeah I guess you know more about Berger than Saban and staff

17 year old or guy who has coached on all levels longer than 17 years.....hmmmmm.......

if u have been paying attention. he is a promising lineman. being GROOMED to be a starter and a key player for next year. BERGER was let go with the hope that he would SLIP through waivers and be resigned. he didnt slip through. therefore saban made a MISTAKE. and i am a huge saban fan

Dude your wrong other wise he wouldnt have been allowed to walk so easily...

this is from the HERALD
THIS AND THAT
• Despite the Dolphins' intentions to re-sign guard Joe Berger following his release Wednesday, the Dallas Cowboys decided they weren't willing to let that happen.
Berger is headed to Dallas today, where the Cowboys claimed him off of waivers and signed him to the 53-man roster as a backup center. The move likely comes as a surprise to the Dolphins, who had been grooming Berger as a future impact player.
The Dolphins took a risk by waiving Berger to make room for safety Norman LeJeune on the roster, a decision made as a result of injuries to the secondary that caused a need for depth during the victory against the Lions.
Berger had not seen action this season because he has been healing a foot injury. Saban recently said Berger was making good progress, and Berger was at the point where he was practicing without any noticeable limitations.
Berger, a Michigan Tech University product, was a sixth-round pick by Carolina in 2005, but the Dolphins signed him from Carolina's practice squad before the 2005 season.
this is from the herald as well.

Dolphins gamble and lose
I'm told the Dolphins agonized over the decision to waive Joe Berger so they could open a roster spot for Norman LeJeune.

I'm told the Dolphins totally expected to re-sign Berger once he cleared waivers.

I'm telling you the Dolphins screwed up in exposing Berger who today was claimed off waivers by the Dallas Cowboys and is already on his way to Dallas.

Berger was more than mildly surprised when the team cut hi, especially considering it kept people like Jim Maxwell and a couple of less accomplished backup offensive linemen on the roster when they cut him.

But the Dolphins seemed confident they could get Berger back because he told them up front that he had no desire to leave South Florida. Guess Miami folks didn't figure that other teams read the waiver wires and know that Berger is a promising center.

That exactly the position he'll play for the Dallas Cowboys once he learns their system.

i guess im not that stupid

Yeah I don't understand why Maxwell, who was inactive for the Detroit game wasn't released instead of Berger. A big-time head-scratcher.

If Berger was so good he would still be on the team.

Its possibe that Fonoti had somthing to do with this, you can only keep so many offensive line projects on the roster.

Berger was picked up INSTANTLY by the Cowboys. We lost a potential Good O-Lineman. I say potential because we dont know yet. He may be practice squad fodder but then again.......watch this space.

I am not saying we are doomed. all i am saying is that small mistakes like these kepp us mediocre. look at the patriots. they have backups who step up all the time. berger could be good he may not. jeez this site used to be a fin Heaven now everyone rips eachothers heads off.

Toniu is a beast...not the best of shape...but a beast..he will do:wink:

Sorry bro I was probably a little harsh, when you start a thread by calling it a
A boneheaded move by Saban cost us big time.
When the guy lost is a project who hasn't even played for us this year it just sounds like massive overkill. There have been so many posts making mountains out of molehills that people get a little fed up. I will edit my previous post.

Couldn't that also be the reason why he isn't on the team? Other teams went after him pretty fast after he was released.
