I am not saying we are doomed. all i am saying is that small mistakes like these kepp us mediocre. look at the patriots. they have backups who step up all the time. berger could be good he may not. jeez this site used to be a fin Heaven now everyone rips eachothers heads off.

No, not to rip everyone, just the ones who claim the sky is falling for such infinitestimal things.

if u have been paying attention. he is a promising lineman. being GROOMED to be a starter and a key player for next year. BERGER was let go with the hope that he would SLIP through waivers and be resigned. he didnt slip through. therefore saban made a MISTAKE. and i am a huge saban fan

It was a slow grooming process then. Everytime an interior lineman has gone done with injury someone else got the nod over Berger. Anderson replaced McKinney, then Jacox replaced Anderson (and stunk but they still didn't play Berger), McIntosh replaced an ineffective Jacox and then switched spots with Shelton at LT, then Jacox made a come-back to replace James, and Fonoti replaced Berger as #2 on depth chart a week after being signed. I'm sorry man, but I'm inclined to trust the coaches that were seeing him in practice and obviously saw more potential in all the others listed above. Berger was a backup, we can get another one next draft or an undrafted FA.

I was shocked that Berger was gone. Even more so that Dallas would snatch him up so quickly. He's got potential, more than Maxwell at the least. I guess it was just a failed gamble that he'd clear waivers. Hopefully, Toledo, a really good guy if you know him btw, can step up next season and crack the lineup.

The only thing Toledo is going to crack is probably some part of his body. He may be a good guy, but he's very injury prone.

There were a few injuries in the secondary so unless Berger was able to play S or CB then it was a practical & good move by Saban.

I could swear that LeJeune, who took Berger's spot, was in on a few pass defenses. Further, Fonoti was able to crack the lineup and hasn't been in a phins uni as long as Berger. Hmmmmmmm!
