Joe Philbin press conference

The Bucs just cleaned house, fired Schiano and Mark Dominik, the GM. Wish we'd do that. But we probably won't.

So, you want him to not only throw himself and his coaching staff under the bus, but Ireland as well? I just don't think that is a realistic expectation. Especially in a league where you never know who you might be asking to hire you next.

You asked what would have satisfied me. That's it. That's what would have satisfied me.

Dude, I do not think you're being harsh on the talent. I think you're spot on that's why I said the talent regressed. I just think Phailbin and staff are part of the talent decision making and they failed miserably.

I listed in another thread the amount of talent we need. Something like 11 players or so.

I just think Phailbin (and staff) has a mediocre mind set and he embraces slightly better mediocrity as improvement.

Thanks. I don't agree -- I don't think any coach has a 'mediocre mindset' and I think these guys all want to win. I think some of them are just more competent than others.

But let me say this: if Joe Philbin and his staff had significant input into the OL personnel and linebackers we entered the season with, or if they were driving forces behind big money extensions to Jones and Misi, then all bets are off. I want Joe and both of the coordinators out on their asses.

Joe not going on Sirius Blitz today, for his weekly spot. They said something about him being in organizational meetings.

Listening to Joe Philbin talk is pointless.

"Joe, how important will it be to focus on rebuilding this offensive line in the next coming months"

Philbin response: "Well we look at all positions and evaluate what needs to be done"

To be fair what else can the guy say at this point? Obviously it's important to focus on the OL in the offseason. We don't need to hear Philbin say that, we already know it to be true.

Bingo. I'm sure they did. They wanted their "type" and Ireland went shopping. Problem is, they're all incompetent.

Evidently Joe was shocked by Adam Beasley question

When I told Philbin today that there is an anti-Sherman sentiment in the locker room (based on my and Ian's reporting), he blanched.

Not sure if Philbin was surprised to hear it or disagreed with the premise, but the reaction was unmistakable.

So is this just a regular end of year press conference or a vote of confidence by Ireland and Ross?

It was an end of year press conference, the way they talked it lasted less than ten minutes before it was over.

all I hear when he speaks is "... whaa wha whaa wha whaa wha wha wha, whaa whaa whaa wha wha, wha wha whaaaaaaa wha whaaaaa wha whaaaa whaaaaa wha.."
