I just read that Joe Philbin interfered with Lazor's play-calling, can you believe that? He is the head coach not an offensive coordinator or QB coach.First off Joe Philbin has no playing experience at this level as far as I can recall, and really doesn't really have any offensive coordinator experience either. Mike Mcarthy called the plays. JP needs to STFU and stay in his lane! Why hire coordinators if your going to micro-manage. Why doesn't he call the plays himself an then get fired because he knows nothing about offense. Done ranting.

It was a strategy call, and the head coach should determine the team's overall strategy in critical game-management situations.

I have no problem with Joe Philbin telling Bill Lazor what his strategy is in that situation. That's Joe's job.

I have no problem that he did it, just that he did it badly.

Actually, Joe was the Offensive Coordinator of the Green Bay Packers when they won the Super Bowl. You are correct that Mike McCarthy called the plays and still does, because he is great at it. However, believe it or not, there is more to being the Offensive Coordinator than just calling the plays. He is still much loved in Green Bay for his work because he excelled at making sure that all players knew their assignments. I know that isn't as sexy as calling the plays but when players like Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson and Jermichael Finley rave openly how great Joe was in their development, they are not just saying it - they mean it.

Nor do I. The problem I have is that Joe Philbin's strategy was to be scared because we fumbled in a game last year. The man is a vagina, and he coaches like one.

You're making too big a deal of it.

Want to run Joe?

How bout a quick end around by Wallace? The way they crashed in they would have been burned badly.

What they fail to tell you is that Joe also told Bill to sneak over to the Packers side and gently massage Aaron's shoulders so he wouldn't get too stiff before the game winning drive.

hindsight....

actually, its not, I was calling it all game long.

I dont know what happens to Lazor. In preseason he was throwing all kinds of wild stuff around.

When it matters? nothing.

How convenient to forget three consecutive 80 yard TD drives in the second half and some excellent play calls with the inside read options vs a GB defense that is known to be susceptible to it and it's ability to freeze LB Clay Matthews among others. Without those 3 TD drives the end of the game is out of reach. Nothing happened to Lazor except poor execution in the first half by the players and having his calls in final drive over-ridden by Philbin. Lazor is money. If there is one person one the staff that deserves copious amounts of praise, it's him and Benton.

Head coaches override their coordinators or give them direction during the game on a regular basis. Nothing new or strange about it.

You can question the call.....but nothing wrong with actually making one.

I actually recognize this in another thread but RT could have scored after the punt block had he just kept one of those and even if he were to get tackled he might still have option to hit WR in endzone.

I also recognize the one play that looked like arena league set up with 3 bunch on both sides with 3 OL. That worked but someone not on LOS so your correct to some degree but I didnt see much of the funky stuff other than that, which was my point.

My dissapointment is in too many side passes that do not work. maybe he is setting something up but kinda doubt it. He is relying on Wallace making a play for 5+. Oakland was some good stuff with the TE bunches.

Quite frankly, I think we are making too much of the blame game started by so called players telling the media. This has become a media game. We lost to Aaron Rogers in last play of game.

but he should have run an end around. we had not run one. they werent expecting it and Wallace could hit a big one.

Philbin & Rizzi are the ebola infecting this franchise.. gonna need to burn down the house to be rid of 'em
