ignore the question marks...my bad.

I think he is going to be our coach for a good long time. He'll do a heck of a job, watch.

It is too early to make any predictions on how our season will go but based on what I've heard him say in his interviews I like his ideas.

I'll say there will be some improvement on last year

He seems like a really smart coach and I think he can be a very successful HC for us. Too bad about that GM; it's time to draft some play makers. Philbin doesn't have a lot to work with as of now.

The question doesn't make sense. Is it asking whether the team will have a good year, or whether Philbin will have a good first year as coach. Because Philbin may do a good job and this team will still finish under .500 and out of the playoffs. Of course, if he does get this team to the playoffs (and especially if the team actually wins a playoff game this time), then he should be in contention for coach of the year.

How about just an average season option. I try and not to have too many expectations. That way if we do well I am pleasantly surprised, but if we suck, I don't kick my TV in.

I'll wait for the draft. It's hard for me to make any guesses on how this team will do, when I don't know what the team will look like.

There only so many expectations we can put on rookies, especially mid to late round guys that might not make the team.

But he is going to build through the draft so he MUST be judged on that as part of it. The fact that he will do that, already makes it an above average season IMO. Any sort of progress will be a plus and I think the Offense will get better by actually getting personnel that fits the scheme for once.

Depends on how "average" is defined. If above average is defined by more than 8 wins, then I would say "no" b/c of the QB situation. If above average is a team that gets better as the year goes along implementing the new system being installed and developing young talent having a chance to contribute for years to come then I say "yes."

I think he has an above average season just from the standpoint of his offensive philosophies. I think Miami will at lease come into the 21st century, they might not have a winning season but the way the team plays will be up to par with the modern NFL culture.
