he doesnt think madison is on the team next year.

I hope he is right.

If he takes a paycut, then he will stay for atleast 1-2 more years. If he doesn't want to take a paycut, then off he goes to another team.

Madison should be sweeping out bus stations next year.

Actualy he would either be playing for big bucks with another team or chilling out retired, sitting on a pile of money bigger than any of us have ever seen in our lives

He looks to me like he's trying to do the same things he could do years ago and the body isn't letting it happen.

I hope we keep him though and cut his pay......we all love sammy.

It's the same as the Reggie Howard argument- he's not worth what we're paying him, but until you have a better option, you can't just get rid of them (although my mother might be a better option than Howard).

i don't think they will cut him cause he will cost us alot of $$$$$ against the salary cap{dead cap $$ that is},they already asked him 2 take a pay cut last or the year before. i sure hope he is willing to help the team out cause if u guys have noticed saban like to keep a good mix of veterans and rookies. also poole and shyronda mitchell will be back 2 compete 4 a spot{saban is really high on this guy mitchell} he's on injured reserve. look for us to draft and or get a quality CB sometime soon.

I didn't say what he WOULD be doing, I said what he SHOULD be doing. Anyone who has stolen as much money as he has the last few years shouldn't get the chance to enjoy it.

Sam gives up a few plays a game and makes some penalties but for the most part he still does a pretty darn good job. So unless you have a replacement in mind you might want to show a little more appreciation for the job he does.

Sam really should have been flagged for pass interference in the endzone yesterday. The replay clearly showed him holding Coles' arm down. I guess it should be considered a makeup call for the Howard penalty which was iffy at best.

No, I really might not want to show appreciation for the way he plays like a rookie despite being a very highly-paid veteran. I have plenty of replacements in mind and I hope we grab one of them in the offseason.

i agree he's overpaid, but when that contract was written 3-4 years ago he was top 10 in the league at that position (maybe top 5). contract $$ go up due to the structure, and his skills (esp. speed) diminish with age. it's not his fault, but I'd expect him to restructure the deal if he wants to retire a Phin.
also remember the contact rule change 2 years ago - this affected press/physical corners like Sam more than anyone else.
