Who would they be smoke screening thoug.
Other then Arizona no one behind them, maybe Atlanta would take Thomas. Arizona also covets Brown. So they would be smokescreening Miami and Atlanta.
Unless, somehow, they found out TB is gonna go after Quinn and tradeup to 2. Which is unlikely.

doesnt it seem more likely that Quinn/Peterson to CLE was the smokescreen? No one will trade up to 3 for Thomas.
