one thing i do not understand and maybe one of u joey-haters can tell me.....is what is the problem with joey... ..as the season goes on he is getting better but, no, not good enough that joey had a good games and is winnig them....the other thing i dont understand.....he came in as a back-up qb......y are you expecting sooo much.....i believe a good backup comes in the game and needs to be consistant and win games....and he is donig just that....we all know that he is no C-pep....but give credict when credicts due....he might not win the game for us but he isnt throwing the game away neither....and in my opinion he has done alot more for this team than pepper has done sooo far....alll i am sayin that the joey bashing should stop as long as he is helping us win game and as long as he is improving then there is no need to bash him....give the guy a break...:fire:

I really want him to do well but all this QB of the future stuff just sits the wrong way with some. Some around here act like he is the next coming.

right but we all know that C-pep will be the qb of the future....but right know we should support joey

My lack of support for Joey will have no bearing on his play on the field.

We can be critical of his poor play, and still root for him to succeed. The world is a complicated place.

My only dispute with other forum users is that they are claiming that Joey is the longterm future for the Dolphins at QB. I disagree. If he wishes to remain in Miami as a backup then so be it. I think he has done well.....for a backup. He's had two games with a QB rating over 70 and his QB rating goes up significantly in the 4th quarter. I give him props for that. However, he was picked yesterday and the ball was returned to inside the 5. It was our defense that kept him out of trouble holding the Vikes to a FG on that drive. In his defense there were a lot of misqueues yesterday that I don't blame Joey for. For example, the negated TD pass to Chambers, the missed FG by Mare (most misses in the league now officially) you can't blame Joey for everything and I think there have been people doing that which is foolish. Joey's a backup and plays like a backup so as long as people aren't putting him on high or something I have no problem with him. I want him to be successful, but he is what he is.

People dont like to call their QB "Joey". It sounds like a kid or something and that is the perception that people have of him. With Miami fans, its all about your stature than about true team production.

Fact is, Harrington is getting better and better. Proof yesterday was being completely shut out in the running game and he still made plays passing all day long. That to me spells that this offense, although still not putting up major points (Mare is part to blame for that), is getting better. He is spreading it around.

I pretty much follow this line of thinking. But any QB that gets stuck in this offense the way it was assembled would have looked bad IMO. Culpepper certainly did.

The gameplan against the Vikings has been spread it out and pass because you can't run on them (#1 in the NFL against the run by far). We are not the first team to do this and he executed the gameplan somewhat weel in the first half but he needs to learn not to throw it up for grabs any time he feels pressure.

Not all of us, some people honestly think Joey will be starting for this team if C-pepp is healthy.

Our QB of the future is not on our roster. You will never see the DC of 04 again. I for one would love to see it but dont think it will ever happen. DC is a fumblin, bumblin choker.

This is the thing. People aren't expecting soooo much...they are calling it like it is.

With him consistently showing his lack of good vision or decision making worries people into seeing that this 7 game winning streak is in danger with him in there.

I'm a person who likes to defend people...I've defended our OLine amist all this bashing for crying out loud.

I've recorded every game this year and watched yesterday's game twice.

Joey had a good, that's right, good 1st quarter.

But from the 2nd quarter through the 4th he showed us his arse again.

He consistently thows behind receivers. He consistently overthows receivers. He consistently underthrows receivers. He throws the ball away too soon. And he throws INTS into "triple" coverage.

I was fully and finally convinced when Joey threw the ball away and Chambers was open and coming back to him and scolded him and Joey waved "my bad".

Then, Joey threw it away again. And Chambers was again coming back to him and then Chambers threw his hands up in disbelief!

Also, when Joey overthrew a wideopen Chambers which would've gave us a first down in field goal range...I just ended copy catting Chambers and throwing my hands up in disbelief.

All this is why people bash Joey. yes, a backup.

But I also believe that part of the blame is that Mularkey doesnt insert the FB fulltime. Ronnie can't seem to run when he doesn't have a FB blocking for him. He even stated that too.

So the gameplan is to pass all day long, taking away play action, and allowing for full on blitzes with a lead. That's what we saw yesterday. Oh yeah, how good do Manning and Brady look in those situations, BTW? If even mighty QB's such as them struggle against this type of scenario, why is Joey expected not to? Certainly he isn't in their calibre, yet you act as though he should be. Joey played well yesterday, and barring the penalties, FG miss, and a bad exchange, we put up 27 offensive points. That is premium work. Don't blame Joey for a team letdown.

There were some problems no doubt, but just FYI Brady executed that gameplan to perfection a few weeks ago. Not saying Joey should be Brady or is even close but that was the gameplan against this team for every team that has played them for weeks now due to their great run defense and lackluster pass defense. That INT was just thrown up for grabs in our own end and if the defense doesn't stop them that is more points but the offense has a laundry list of problems for sure.

Joey was part of the team let down.
