What do we do to actually put points on the board?

The offense was still inept as ever and only scored 10 points. Granted it wasnt Joey's fault on the fumble (although it could have been but I havent seen it again) and if it wasnt for two defensive TD's we would have lost.

Overall I give Joey a C++/B-

Before you say 'OMG he was amazing what are you on?'

That one terrible decision almost cost us the game, he was more accurate today but still missed a couple open throws and we only scored ten offensive points.

Please do not use this as a bash Joey thread, I think we should all appreciate the job he did today. Apart from that terrible INT this was his best game yet. So please no bashing, Id just like to discuss what you guys think the problem with the offense is.

I'll say the same thing I mentioned in another thread....

Harrington is the absolute most streaky QB I think I've ever seen play. He can look like a top QB for a couple of quarters and then he looks like a career backup for the next couple. Don't get the guy.

He has flashes of brilliance in him but being a top player at this level is all about consistency in level of play. I don't know if he's capable of overcoming how streaky he is.

I agree with you. He played amazing in the first half, and then struggled at times in the 2nd half. But overall I would give him a B-. Lets hope he can continue to make plays and score more points.

JH doesn't seem to play well with the game on the line. It seems like when we've been needing him to convert in the fourth it hasn't happened, but early in the game or when its practically garbage time he looks much more competent.

If you can't run the ball, what do you think we can do??????

PS

We really do not have a backup to Brown on the team. Morris is horrible since coming back. I would have been happy if we kept Suggs.

The problem with the offense was that we were too one dimensional today. . . and Joey isn't the type of QB to take a offense on his shoulders and be a difference maker. He is a system QB who needs good guys around him to succeed. I think we were asking alot of Joey today trying to spread the offense and let him make the decisions. He is good enuff to manage that for a while, but its not what u want to do for 4 quarters . . . especiallly w/ no run game.

Honestly, that first drive killed the whole flow for the rest of the game . . . I think if we would have scored on that drive . . we might of blown out the Vikings . . but like Nick said . . the team show good "resillance" after having that happen.

Joey HAS to stop with the chancy throws on our side of the field . . . that kills us . . . I really want Joey to come out on Thanksgiving and "feast" on his old team . . . I'm pretty sure the Detroit fans will have a nice welcoming for him.

that score should have been TOTALLY lop sided

- ronnies fumble inside the 5
-chambers 58 yard touchdown nullified by the penalty
- and they scored on the last play so it was actually 24-13 in my book!

It was lousy OL blocking for RB who is at fault today.....when you are forced to be one dimensional, and pass 99 percent of the time(exaggerated), you have to expect int's....just be glad it was only 1. Joey did well first half and stagnated in the 2nd half...2nd half was won by JT and the D

Yea but the Fins made themselves one dimensional early . . . Minny always sells out to the run and makes u beat them thru the air. Only reason why we didn't run more is because we let them hang around long enuff to force us to keep sticking with the original gameplan. I honestly think the Fins wanted to jump Minny early and run clock, but after the first series that plan was done.

Harrington has to own up to his sub par performance, he is not making any big plays. I know it wasn't his fault the touchdown to Chambers was called back, but he should have thrown for another td or two and produced some points in the second half of the game.
He needs to hit the receivers in stride, most of his completions are when a WR is standing in a specific spot, when he throws to a moving target he usually throws it behind the receiver. He needs to work on this with the receivers and get his timing down better...then that will lead to more offensive touchdowns.

The offense as a whole has problems with concentration. The penalties, drops and turnovers always come from some sort of breakdown. And, I swear something bad always happens to the offense after a timeout. If you want to stop a Miami drive, just call a timeout. Ronnie Brown's fumble came on the first play right after a timeout and if you go back to other games, I'll bet that alot of our penalties and/or turnovers occurred after a timeout. That shows a lack of concentration.

This ain't the first part of the season. I have seen significant improvement in the amount of drops, the amount of penalties and the turnovers.

I agree with you guys for the most part. He played the best he has played all year in the first half. Very accurate with the ball and put the offense in positions to score. My biggest problem with Joey has been his inaccuracy. Until after that INT today, his accuracy was good. He seemed a bit rattled after that. Its hard to ask any QB to put up points without help from the running game. So I give Joey credit for holding it together and not giving away the game. But if this offense wants to put up points, he needs to be more consistent with his accuracy and decision making.

On this I will absolutely agree with you 100%. Dupree's really the guy that's been harping on this for the longest time.

That's been his story his entire career. He always seems to have a great half and then a horrible one.

This game was really no different from the New England one. Great first half, horrible second half.

But honestly it's not even worth discussing.

Joey Harrington was a freaking afterthought in this game. We should all be talking about Jason Taylor and the defense...not Joey Harrington.

Kdawg...The O has definitely been better, especially with penalties but the fumble today was inexcusable. This team just can't give points away like that. It was a great opening drive but just as they have a rythem, there is timeout and on the next play they fumble.

I don't want to be negative, but the game was shaping up to be a classic loss by the Fins. The Vikes played a conservative game and basically waited for Miami to make a mistake and give the game away. Brown's fumble, Mare's missed FG and then Joey's pick. Just giving points away. Fortunately for us, JT and the D stepped up and made the big plays...something they didn't do during the early part of the season.

Anyway, the Fins are playing well and I'm enjoying the winning streak. With the way the D is playing, we will be in every game if the O doesn't give any points away.

like i said before...u dont lose the game on 1 play....if that chambers TD isnt called back the INT means nothing
