In seven games he has thrown for 1717 yards
10 touchdowns
11 interceptions
rating of 71.6 and pass completion for 58.5

Stat's aren't impressive compared to someone like Peyton Manning but if he manages to play(next 5 games) really well and have a couple of 200 yard games, 300 yard games then he can end up with at least 3,000 yards for the year which is good for a quarterback. With the way he is progressing he is mimizing errors out there on the field and he might just end up for 19 touchdowns and 15 interceptions for the year.

Just some thought.

This might start a riot, but I agree, Too bad that interception total has to be 11 though... some of those dropped and deflected passes, I hate seeing count against him like that... but, it is what it is.

Comeback player of the year implies he has come back from something. He has not. His production and play is about the same as it has been through his entire career.

PS- His stats arent just not impressive, they are downright bad. The only players ranked below him in terms of QB rating are either rookies or players who have been benched for playing poorly.

Harrington is not a blip on the radar for comeback player of the year, and nor should he be.

If by some miracle this team makes the playoffs, he would be a shoe-in. Could anyone have imagined? Joey Harrington leading a team to the playoffs? Doubt it happens though.

Don't look at the cumlative numbers. Look at his progression from his first start to his last. I love that upcurve!

Brees is probably a candidate due to the fact that he wasn't expected to play this season due to his shoulder injury and since he was playing in a new city and expected to fail since he was a "system QB".

Daunte would have been had he succeeded.

right now though I don't see, unless he completely tanks the second half of the season, how Rex Grossman won't win it. True he hasn't been as good as his statistics indicate, but the guy has been hurt 4 straight years and is finally playing a full year.

Honestly I don't think Joey will be a nominee.

It's pretty much a dead lock that Chad Pennington is going to win the award because of the multiple opperations he has had.

I don't think so. His play has declined rapidly in the last few weeks...plus despite his potentially career ending injuries, I just see Grossman winning this one.

Yeah, his game to game improvement is what makes me excited about our chances.

Hard to pay attention to those numbers when our receivers dropped a ton of balls early on (lowered comp. %) and tipped balls into DBs hands for some of those INTs. And before one of you Daunte huggers comes and reminds me of the Chambers catch that was a little short for TD i'm aware. The point is the statistics don't tell the 'whole' story.

If the Dolphins keep winning Joey deserves a look for this award. Regardless, I'm sure he'd tell you that being on a REAL team now is all the award he needs.

I'm sick and tired of these excuses on INTs. This happens year in and year out to every QB, especially the inaccurate ones.

What about the passes that would have been INT if not for WR making a big play? Should we tally those as well?

Shoe-in? Are you kidding me? You have to comeback from something bad, and a bad team doesn't even come close to counting.

If he brings the team to the playoffs, something that a 1-6 team has never been able to accomplish in the history of the league, then I would say he should be in the running. Talk about overcoming adversity, not only coming back from 1-6 but after all that crap in Detroit, what a great story this would make!

Basically putting up the same numbers as last year, although numbers don't tell the whole story. Travis Henry might be a good choice.
I actually think Damon Huard should get some award for the job he did. The amazing thing about Huard is that he only threw one interception, with a less than stellar receiving corps. 11 td's and 1 int pretty incredible for a guy that has been on the bench for about a decade.
