Was not Dan Hennings call. Tony Sparano admitted to the media at a press conferance after the game that the call was on him. He made the decision to put the ball into Joey's hands because he is 6 foot 7 and was playing against a smaller corner. He also added that it was very windy and he thought that Joey could make the play. I just wanted to clear the air with all the Dan Henning haters who thought that that was his decision.

I am sorry for not having a link because i just saw it now on nfl network because they were replaying the game:)

I would also like to take this opporitunity to say MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE HERE AT FINHEAVEN, AND TO DOLPHIN NATION!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DOLPHINS BABY!!!!!!!!!! KICK SOME JETS ASSSSS!!!!!

Sparano claims responsibility and I believe him when he says that he made the call. It was a risk that didn't work. If it did, everyone here loves him even more. All in all it doesn't matter. We won. Bring on the Yets!!

I don't,

I think he's protecting an Offensive Coordinator who has had a very sketchy year already. It's good that he did that, but Henning has at times been a complete joke of a coordinator. I wouldn't mind seeing a change next season.

without henning we don't have a top 10 offense.

Without Chad Pennington, Jake Long, Ricky Williams, Ronnie Brown (healthy) and the emergence of Bess/Camarillo and the TE's we don't have a top 10 offense.

Henning is leading a very talented group, and i think with the exception of some nicely designed trick plays he's done a very poor job of play calling in key situations this year.

PEOPLE, it wasn't a bad call, just a bad throw on Pennington's part. If Chad puts that ball in the perfect spot (as he's done all season long), then you would all be praising Sparano and Pennington for the call. Smarten up guys.

smarten up? dude that's an endzone fade which is a low percentage play even in perfect conditions. you have to run the ball or go playaction quick pass to TE middle or FB in the flats, not throw the fade. it was 4th down!!!! flat out a bad call.

hopefully, lesson learned and they don't make the same mistake twice. with polite being what 10 for 10 on short yardage conversions, this might be the week we see a little play action with a fake to polite and a wide open martin or fasano

For what it is worth, I think Henning has done a fantastic job this year keeping defenses off balance. But that call seemed a little odd on 4th down. In hindsight a run to Polite or a fake to Polite toss to Ricky or Ronnie, the pass to Haynos who has one career catch seemed a little sketchy on a windy day, although if the pass was executed properly, the Phins probably get a pass interference call on a small corner.

They call wasn't really bad, it just wasn't right for the time. When you have 4th and 1 and you have Polite and Ronnie in the backfield you just hand the ball off up the middle and let them get the yard. Saying that though, it wasn't a horrible call based on the size difference and the 1 - 1 coverage. I believe if the ball was where it should have been or the reciever was where he should have been it would have ended up being a TD.

Absolutely correct ,Sir.
Noone has a problem with Polite getting the yard on a fourth down call, and running that fade on the next play- logical. But isn't that the point of this being a good call? Nobody was expecting that. If it works, it's genius.

i hate the fade route...seems like it NEVER works

END OF CONVO RIGHT THERE.

If it worked this thread would be "WHAT A GREAT CALL THAT HENNING MADE ON 4TH AND 1"
