With all due respect to our troops, I hope.

... You're offended by this? It's just a way for him to emphasize how hard fought this battle will be and that it's a must-win situation.

Nah, not offended. Sometimes it rubs me the wrong way when people throw around the term "war" and wear fatigues like a fashion statement, especially while our troops are currently fighting a war.

I know what he's saying, and I'm sure he remembers and respects the troops.

Pretty amusing, though i do wanna hear if and when Chad Ochocinco starts complaining about Peezy moving in on his stunts.

You know, I'm not a rah rah flag waver but that is really inappropriate when REAL soldiers are dying in a REAL war. It's ****ing football, that's it.

Like the poster says below, this seems like a corny Ocho Cinco incident, but I also might not see the perspective of soldiers or family members of soldiers because I am neither, so you're right it could be offensive to some of them.

Nick Saban Compares Louisiana-Monroe Loss to 9/11, Pearl Harbor

"Changes in history usually occur after some kind of catastrophic event. It may be 9-11, which sort of changed the spirit of America relative to catastrophic events. Pearl Harbor kind of got us ready for World War II, or whatever, and that was a catastrophic event." --Nick Saban

I dont see how its innappropriate. He in no way said anything disrespectful about the soldiers or portrayed them in a bad way. Stop blowing it out of proportion.

That's what happens when a university sells their soul to Satan for championships. At least Bear Bryant didn't hear this clown.

As a veteran, I couldn't care less. It's (supposedly) a free country, he can wear whatever he wants and use the analogy of war all he wants. People are so ****ing sensitive.

My cousin just went to Afghanistan.. Im not offended. Nor should any of us be.

War analogies have forever been used in football by coaches for motivation. Why should we find it any different now?
