do you think with the reconstruction of our D he will play to the level he did in Pitt. Now that we are switching to a legit 3-4 i think he should do better than last year by far.
 
Yeah, he will be used correctly this year, and will return to his glory days IMO. He is a true pass rusher and will show that. I am excited to see him this year.
 
I think he will definitely play better then last year since were going to a system which plays to his strengths but dont know if he'll play up to years past in Pittsburgh ... only time will tell.

most def. the D line we had last year ppl expected Porter to be a HOFer. they dont realize a 3-4 D breathes off of the D LINE and our D line was PATHETIC, SMALL, and WEAK. hence our Lbers played like total CRAP. and JP still managed to get decent numbers up for a new scheme, after surgery, missing lots of practice time, and a horrible D/D line.
 
an issue is also Porter has usally played the ROLB in the 3-4, but Taylor plays there and hes had to play on the right side which means different responsibilities at times... but i think Porter will be fine for us, he played well the 2nd half of the season and i dont think our new regime will have him playing as a down lineman as much as he was last year

Not to mention the games where Porter WAS the D-Line... When Capers lined him up there like an idiot

c'mon u know him at LE was the best move yet. LMAOO!! dude i dono why ppl were so high on capers i NEVER liked the guy, horrible coach, horrible DC, our D was good for 2 years b/c of SABAN and ONLY SABAN n ppl take taht away from that good coach and great defensive coach.

capers was a tool and the players hated him more then nething else.
 
yes we should move him back to the weakside LB (same as where he played in pitt) and should play a lot better
 
there is no question in my mind that Joey Porter will absolutely play better and be tons more productive this year. He will be able to do the things he did in Pitt here in MIA now that we are a 3-4 defense. He was never one to be a part of a hybrid defense because he can't cover anyone, but killing the quarterback is a different ball game.

I'll venture to say he will be a Pro-Bowler next year!!!
 
G - FORCE where are you when I need you.
Porter was one of the best players on defesne last year.
So I would assume that he will play at a much better level next year then what he did last being put in the position to do what he does best.

Ha, yeah, he was great at LE trying to run through the tackles

I HATE that human POS Saban, but I agree that 2007 proved how much of that great defense was because of Capers, and how much of it was because of dogwife...
 
yeah i agree he did great the second half of the season but i think the front 7 are going to be much better than we have had in a while. Im excited about this season

I wouldn't go as far to say Capers was hated by the players. But you make a great point about Saban. He created that defense and was the main reason why we were a good defensive team for two years. We lead the league in sacks one year and managed to go 9-7 with Gus!!! I would have loved to have seen what Saban could have done with JT and Porter, but oh well. JP should continue to play like he did at the end of last year. I'm predicting an 10 sack season from JP.
