I think. I know the team is grateful for what he did last year but he's done nothing this year. I think this is his last year with Miami. BTW, why wasn't K. Rhodes not ejected for throwing a punch at C. Wake before the game?
 
I wish i had a dollar for every time I had to explain this. Joey Porter is not doing anything because he is constantly double teamed, watch some tape of the game. Why do you think other guys are getting sacks, because Porter is taking the double team. He is not done and I have a feeling he will be back next year...plus he is a leader.

constantly double teamed ? we haven't seen the same games my friend...

Not from what I've seen.
 
I watch all the games. Yeah he's doubled teamed sometimes, but when he's not he still not getting there. When he was doubled last year he still manage to still put pressure on the QB. I think the coaches know that and thats why you saw him on the sideline some plays.
 
Yeah Joey hasn't been doubled much this year... last year sure.
He's definitely not the same player he was last year but i wouldn't say he's done. You don't go from 16 sacks one season to done in the next. He'll show up one of these games... my guess is this week.
 
I don't think he's being constantly double teamed, but we've only played 7 games and he hasn't been 100% and even missed a whole game. Also, you can't expect ANYBODY to get 17.5 every year. He'll get it together soon enough. We have much bigger problems on this team than Porter.
 
Living where I do (PA) I've seen a lot of Joey Porter's career. He may be a loud mouth, but he gives the team everything he has. But between his back and knees, he doesn't have much left in the tank. His body is shot.
 
Everyone realizes that he has a hamstring injury right? Most important part of a pass rushers body, if he cant get a good intial surge a O-linemen can get their hands on him and then its game over.
 
he is a n emotional leader, but I agree, he has played bad this year and still coaches refuse to give wake more snaps. Big part of the secondary troubles is that the OLB's are getting no pressure on the QB.

Btw, he has not bee double teamed alot...
 
Last year, backs were assigned to Porter rushing the outside while the tackles picked up Merling. Now they have tackles picking up Porter more often-- almost always now-- so his effectiveness has gone down. Still, if the other line didn't have to account for Porter, Starks wouldn't have gotten his sacks.
 
i think u gotta take all this to account when talking about joey porter....

hes been injured for most of the year hes probably still not 100 percent and its a hamstring which probably doesnt give him the burst he needs yet

everyone knows what he can do and they are probably putting more attention on his side like previous posters said....

hes still playing very hard and i love it just because his stats are down it dont mean the whole story.... in one statement hes a warrior playing injured and playing hard and has a lot more attention on him this year.
