Joey Porter was pretty much invisible on the field against the Jets. We need him to come up big against the Ravens and put some major pressure on Flacco. What does the defensive coordinator need to do to get him back on track. I think we need to put in a heavy blitz package to get him going early. I think once he gets a couple of hits on Flacco, he will end up having a huge came. What do you guys think we need to do on defense to get Porter going again?

He was constantly on an OT, the NYJ's made sure of that. He usually exposes any RB or TE trying to block him, this is why we got a great push from Langford, Ferguson and Holliday one less OL to help out against the DL. Sometimes players do alot to help others have a good/big game but go unnoticed when there's nothing to record, I'm sure everyone on that defense knows how valueable his game was for our team to succeed.

i don't think we sacked Farve all game though. he had too much time to throw the ball, all the interceptions he threw was not because of the pass rush, we need more of a pass rush to beat Baltimore. How are we going to generate that pass rush?

Porter effects the game whether the stats show it or not.

Take a look at the 3rd interception of Farve by Goody, tell me who got in Farves way making him overthrow and causing the very important turnover......it was PORTER.

What Porter needs most is for someone else to step up and get to the QB. Until someone else establishes himself as a legitimate pass rusher, Porter will get all the attention from the blocking scheme. Sure, he'll occasionally win a one on one matchup, but more often than not will be shut down. I think you'll see Miami blitz a lot more against a rookie this week. Blitzing Favre is almost doing him a favor. He's seen it all, and he loves to beat the blitz with big throws downfield in one on one coverage. Against Flacco, I would expect more blitzes.

Our pass rush was good all day ,alot of passes were tipped at the
line of scrimmage.

Agree!! It does not matter if he gets sacks or not but like 3rdandinches is saying the impact he has on other defenders is great.

Go Dolphins!!!!

dude.... Farve was under pressure all game. No sacks, but he felt constant pressure from our pass rush. (At least thats what I saw)

well, i want to see Flacco on his back, not just under pressure. i just want to see the defense domintate. we are gonna need the defense to play out of their mind to get the win.

Porter can't do it alone, teams gameplan for him and find ways how to keep him away from the QB.. he usually puts pressure on the QB but we have to find an other dangerous pass-rusher so that the whole weight isn't on Joey's shoulders..
