The Toronto Argonauts have gained exclusive CFL rights to former Detroit Lions starting quarterback Joey Harrington by placing his name on their negotiation list. Argos general manager Adam Rita said he made the move after Harrington was released by the Miami Dolphins, with whom he played last season, on March 6. However, Rita said he had not spoken to the player and had no immediate plan to do so. "We're pretty set at that position right now," he said. "But he's someone we might want to look at down the road."

maybe thats what he needs **** we all know he can't do anything in the nfl.

that's a low blow to Joey, getting his rights and then saying they are set at that position...that's assuming Joey would even be interested in playing in Canada.

Whats with those Argo`s?? Seem`s every failed Dolphin ends up over there lol

just because ur on a negotiation list does not mean anything is imminent...a negotiation list, is just claiming the cfl rights to a player, should they ever want to play in the league, they first must speak to the team that possesses the right to acquire his services...a player like eric crouch was on the argos's list for years before finally signing last year...

currently the argos have eric crouch, mike mcmahon, michael bishop, damon allen and one of peyton's backups lined up for camp this spring...

Joe Theismann while drafted by the phins.. was never really a phin.

Joe Theismann is a friggn' loser. I absolutly hate that man and wish he would get the hell out of the NFL completly. Nobody wants to listen to your stupid opinions and past experiences anymore Joe! He always has something to say.

As long as Joey is happy and not on our team, I'm happy for him.

While Joey doesn't appear to be anyone's answer, he'll probably garner enough interest to not have to settle for playing in the CFL.

I would take JH over several NFL starters right now. Namely, Kitna, Frye, Walters, Simms, Grossman and possibly even Vick.

I dont understand how that works? Joey is under no contract with them. Is it like he is a RFA where as any team who makes him an offer the agro's have the option to match it, before he sighns? Seems unfair to the players to be in that spot without consent.

I will say this about Joey in the CFL:

I dont see him having sucess there. He is not athletic enough for them. The QB's that exceed in the CFL can scramble and throw deep balls.
