With us rumoured to be favouring a 4-3 D and Nolan preferably running a 3-4, could FA John Abraham be an option in Free Agency.

I first thought no, as Nolan would use him much like he did Wake & Dumervill, but the Falcons also have Ray Edwards who they threw a bit of money at.

I think he will be in play and if so looking for a 4-3 team. While playing for the dirty green, he was not happy being switched from DE to a 3-4 OLB.

I am a fan, but at the right price due to his age. Looks like Falcons won't bring him back.

We are not moving to a 4-3. We're going to be running 3-4 and 4-3 D's. This according to Philbin via the Herald. Sounds like more of the same.

Also, reports are that Nolan will keep the 4-3 in Atlanta.

So, the entire premise of this thread is void. Next.

The Falcons said they are going to stay in the 4-3 right after they hired Nolan. Plus he is too old. He was a great player in his time, but hes just not the same anymore.

Abraham is only a part time player. He would fill much of the same role Wake already does. Besides which, I doubt he would leave Atlanta.

Also, even if we were interested, Ireland has said Miami will fix the QB position this off-season, and salary cap wise, unless they can cut, as well as restructure enough contracts, Miami will not get much of a chance at any other high profile player if they intend to fix the QB position w/ FA.

A couple of years ago maybe, but he is way too old now. I would rather find someone in the draft.

I think John Abraham used most of the gas he had in his tank last year. I would pass on this pick up.

abraham is done. cant get pressure on the qb at all anymore. would rather draft upshaw or find a pass rusher later in the draft.

I´d go after Cliff Avril from the Lions....11 sacks last year, would fit in nicely opposite CamWake...
