John Beck Interview

Thanks.

Good listen.

Sounds like the release point is being quickly corrected. Nothing like some good coaching to help a player improve.

I warmed to having Beck after reviewing some clips on his after the draft. Gotaa feel bad for him though. Even Quinn would've been demolished behind that line last year.

Interesting to note, i do remember Parcells making a comment about Beck last year sayin it was impossible for a rookie to come in and be successful. And that throwing him in there will only hurt his confidence. I had a few arguments in the chatroom with Finheaven members while the board was down about this. I must say.. I was wrong. I'll never want throw another rookie QB in the line of fire again. I am now a firm believe of sitting a rook and letting him develop.

Just as good was the news that he was working hard to correct his issues was the news that Ginn was out there with him, constantly working to improve route running and catching the ball. What happens on gameday begins with great work habits, and these guys have it.

Thanks.

Well I thought Cam Cameron and Terry Shea were these qb gurus. So all of a sudden these guys are not good coaches for qb's. Amazing how these guys were geniuses when they draft Beck but all of sudden its thier fault and we now have better qb coaching. I thought Cameron was this qb maker as some claim on this site. I thought Terry Shea was this qb genius coach because he decided supposedly Beck was a better choice. I just find it ironic that the great praise we gave for our coach and pick and now he finally has good qb coaching. Besides Romo I dont know of any Qb that Lee has turned into a stud or maybe Romo was a stud that just finally got his chance. Amazing how Lee was Qb coach in college and no other teams came knocking, I men if he is such a stud you would think all teams would wnt him. I just think we are not consistent on our opinions here thats all.

I think I'm more excited about seeing Beck and Ginn this year then I was last year - it seems that this coaching staff is actually working hard and putting in a lot of time to develop our talent, rather than just relying on them to help themselves. This is something I think was missing in the past few coaching staffs. Also, throw in our newest addition to the O-line, Jake Long, and there's now some hope that they can be at least somewhat effective on the offensive side of the ball. Last year it seemed like I held my breath anytime the offense took the field.

Beck has ALL the tools mentally and attitude wise, and I like his arm and release. That said, with a solid supporting cast and good coaching, he's got what it takes to succeed.

Personally, I'm looking for really good things from him.

practice doesn't make perfect, but practice will always make permanent.

glad to hear he's working his tail off. he's got the fire to succeed.

You didn't listen to the interview nor are you aware at all what happened last year, are you?

Typically response..Not to single you out, But what does this have to do with the interview?

The explanation on his release point on how it got lower was where I was really listening. Having your shoulder joint injected with pain killers and then taped down so he can take the field? Sounds like a pretty tough SOB too me.

I also remember an article on Beck where almost the entire year he had both ankles heavily taped due to injury. Regardless on whether or not he turns out to be a good QB for us at the very least we know he will do everything he can to take the field.

He is a tough SOB, but Crowton (the coach at the time) was an idiot for doing this. That season, we weren't going to be successful, so why risk your QB. It was to save his job.
