Old fart that started late ans will be a career back-up!!! Goood In College and Scrap In NFL!! AMrk My words!!! Beck Stinks

Beck isn't that bad. You're just still upset because you wanted Quinn. Which is completely understandable. A lot of people did and a lot of people are furious. But give John Beck a shot. As Cam would say he is a Miami Dolphin and that's not going to change. Brady Quinn was a media creation that all of us bought into. Cam and Randy knew we wanted Brady and they stood firm on their conviction that Beck was the better QB. And you know this isn't about the money because Huizenga is willing to throw money at anything. So let him get to Miami before we talk about how he's gonna suck. Even though he won had the added pressure of being the #9 pick and all the expectations that can bring, he still knows that he will play every down of his career with the Miami Dolphins in the shadow of Bob Griese and Dan Marino. I don't envy his position. With Quinn the expectations would have been so high he couldn't have been anything but a bust. But I do hope we made the right choice. And if not, nothing we can do about it now.

I still Say Stanton or Edwards were better off In Miami

My QB Board looked like this at the start of the day
JaMarcus Russel
Brady Quinn
John Beck
Drew Stanton
Trent Edwards
Kevin Kolb

Those were the 6 QBs I expected to go on Day 1. Obviously didn't think Brady would go that late. DIdn't think Kolb would go that early. And was pleased when we landed Beck. There's certainly questions about all 3 second tier QBs, but there were also questions about Brady Quinn. I know in this world of win now, no patience, ESPN, media driven sports that people aren't always willing to give time to let things develop, but I don't think we'll know who the real winners and losers are in the QB department in this draft are until about 3 years from now. Did the Browns give up too much to get Brady Quinn? What was the deal with Philly drafting Kevin Kolb? Was it the right idea for the Fins to pass on Quinn to get Beck? What about Stanton, Edwards, Leak, Smith, Zabransky, etc. This wasn't a particularly strong draft for QBs. But we have to trust that Cameron, Mueller, and Shea, all who have great track records regarding acquiring and developing good young QB, know what they're doing. And if you're not willing to do that then go cheer the Jets.

Maybe he's the next Drew Brees? Maybe he's the next Philip Rivers? Heck, maybe he's the next Steve Young?

Only time will tell...

Any takers on this bet:

Dominizzo has never seen John Beck play.

Two consecutive ~4000 yd seasons? Leading BYU to an 11-2 season? 32 TD's and only 8 INT's? Throws a ball 70 yds accurately?

I'm happy with the pick...

Next time I'm up at Mesa (AZ) Mountain View HS (Beck trains there pretty regularly), I'll be sure to tell him you pass your best Domino.

Beck will rewrite the record books down here. If I had to pick, and from watching Beck play many times, I think he is most comparable to and a cross between:

Doug Williams, Warren Moon, and Boomer Esiason

I like Beck and all but our QB records are pretty well set  we would only be so lucky if her were THAT good.

Beck will be bridging the gap for now. Swami says the Dolphins really have their sites on either Colt McCoy of Texas, Tim Tebow from Florida or Brian Brohm out of Louisville. :D

Just a little humor to start the day. I'm tired
