John Beck may be the Redskins Opening Day STARTER

beck has skills, the game was just way too fast for him when he was here. Time, growth, maturity, and confidence could make the guy a legit starter. I wish the kid the best.

prolly 28 or 29 i would think, don't know for sure. Hey he was bad here, I would not dispute it, just saying time could have helped the guy out. The game needed to slow down, maybe it has.

If this shortsighted front office hadn't prematurely released him after they drafted Henne we would be singing a different tune. He's smarter and more accurate than Henne. Given the same number of reps as Henne and with the improved surrounding cast, I think he beats out Henne last season.
I'm pretty sure he doesn't hand Cleveland and Detroit the wins on our homefield the way Henne did.

OMG are people really regretting getting rid of John Beck??? He will never be a legitimate starter in the league. If he starts for the Skins, it only means there's one team with a worse QB sitation than ours.

Seriously? Was he really given a chance? BP made his decision the day he drafted Henne. Beck was an afterthought in TC and the preseason and only got limited reps in practice and a little garbage time at the end of a few preseason games.
I still don't see what harm it would have done to keep him on the roster to try and develop him along with Henne. CP was the starter and the coaching staff could have had 2 young QB's to groom. I think Beck is a better prospect than Thigpen, but they cut Beck outright and traded a 5th for Thigpen. Go figure.
