This is a thread to praise John Beck, and to wish him well next season, because i am one of the people who would like to see him actually play before investing in another quarterback. What happened to all of the people last year who wanted to see him play? Why is your attitude so different? His performance was typical for a rookie being thrown into the dog pit with expectations higher than mount everest.

What i saw from Beck was two things; poise behind a shaky o-line and i saw one hell of an arm making throws i haven't seen a dolphins quarterback make since Marino. This is not comparing Beck to Marino, but this is however saying what i saw was good, and with proper development could turn out to be a weight off our shoulders. It does not matter that he is 27, quarterbacks can play well into their 30's.

THE TRUTH is
  • Getting an O-line would greatly help Beck be the quarterback he SHOULD be.
  • Putting weapons around beck will bring out his full potential
  • He will still make some rookie mistakes, but i GUARANTEE you will not be let down by Mr. Beck.

I agree. He was a rookie on a very bad offense. Not to mention, his coach couldn't commit to him in terms of playing time. Not a great situation to be in.

I don't fully understand all those who want to see us draft Ryan. I can't say he's any better then Beck he'll also have no experience.

FINALLYYYYYYY,someone else who wants to see what Beck can do with hopefully an improved team. too many people on here in the "get rid of Beck" category without seeing what he can do with an improved team. people people people.....give John Beck a chance ok....put an O-Line in front of him and surround him with the necessary weapons to succeed and watch what he does before making any judgement calls on him ok.......is that too much to ask

he may have been just a rookie but i think some people are a little shocked by how dreadful he was, i mean in my opinion his play last year is the worst a dolphins qb has played in dolphins history since i can remember

I agree, Beck needs more time. He didn't have time to throw the ball like he should. But he needs to learn better ball control, he fumbled too much, you can't blame the O-line for everything. I think he should start, the only real problem he had unrelated to his surroundings was all the fumbles.

He was thrown into a few very tough situations and the talent level around him was not very good. Our offense was basically neutered with the loss of Ronnie Brown, Chambers was traded, Chatman went down, Martin was MIA for most of the year, Marty Booker gave up towards the end of the season, Ginn wasn't properly utilized and the OL wore down both mentaly and physically at the end of the year.

Give Beck a chance to show what he can do with a quality surrounding cast, he might surprise you. He was drafted for his arm strength, accuracy, ability to read plays and go through his progressions, and poise, he didn't just lose all of that. He showed glimpses, but I feel he'll show you why we drafted him over Quinn with the right supporting cast.

don't you remember some of those throws he was making in the wet steelers game, all the way across the field?

he didn't turn the ball over in the first two games if i'm not mistaken. When he needed the line to block they were nowhere to be found.

alot of you people apparently think Beck should've came in and played like a Pro Bowl QB on a SB bound team.....ummmmm hello,he was a rookie QB playing on a piss poor team, with the only weapons on that team being Ronnie before he went down and maybe Ginn....what did you people expect from him? again,i say....GIVE JOHN BECK A CHANCE OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am willing to give Beck a chance, BUT I also think we should not pass up an opportunity to acquire another good QB. May the best guy win.

I also agree we need to give him some more time. Half of the games he played in last year were in horrific conditions. He needs a full training camp as the #1 QB to build his confidence. He seems to have good poise in the pocket and a very strong arm.

I have been saying this time and time again. What did you expect from a rookie quarterback playing with an 0-8 team, shaky offensive line, no real recieving core, conservative playbook, and an average running game without brown.

He showed poor deep accuracy and cant throw accurately on the move. Unless that improves quickly he wont be a good starter. You can say that it was due to him being a rookie but that was his writeup coming out of college

you obviously don't remember ray lucas

Many fans on this site are extremely impatient. Beck needs to develop. This takes 3 to 5 years. Considering this is his 2nd season his timing is excellent. Parcels will draft a QB in the late rounds and pay an immobile, over the hill veteran to come in and frustrate the hell out of us all for a couple of years. Beck will play some and most likely be sporadic.

Were gonna stink for a while (6-10 and then hopefully 8-8 and then Beck is gonna get his chance...)

Whatareyagonnado?
