John Beck Versus. Cinci. last game of season...

Unfortunately the only game of the season i was not able to watch, and still have not seen it...Yet I later saw highlights and Beck looked good..So my question to those who watched the game..Was that the game that we'll look back and say, thats the game where Beck shook off all the nerves and rust and went out there and just play to his abilities? Was that game the coming out party for John Beck leading into this year?....OR AM I OVERANALYZING and did Beck play decent against a below average defense, in a meaningless game? Thanks

after some early mishaps (fumble for touchdown anybody?) the kid settled down and looked good. that game gave me hope for beck's future here.

Let's hope that the new OL additions will help Beck and his cohorts 'feel more comfortable' back there.

I think you can take the game and see some positives and some negatives in his game. Some of the positives were the throws that he made. Simply brilliant at times, but I also remember him rushing a couple of his throws (something he corrected towards the latter parts of the game.) I can say that I'm one of the guys that wants Beck to succeed and become the next QB for our franchise for the next 10 years. I can also tell you that Beck, based on that Cincy game last year, still has some work to do to become a starter in this league.

It's hard to evaluate 1st year QBs and really hard when that QB has very little help around him. I still think Beck will be a decent QB in this league if given the chance, what he did last year was expected.

Given the lack of rational Dolphins fans, I might have to become a Jets fan. :baghead:

I'll admit, he has a ton of potential. The boy can throw a ball like crazy. A good line and a good running game could really let this kid shine. He has to control the game though. That will be his roll, not gunslinging. That takes experiance and very cool nerves. He didn't have either last season.

There are a lack of rational fans no matter what team we root for. It's a what have you done lately society so all the people that loved the Beck pick last yera now are ready to move on and love Henne then if henne struggles(like he most likely would if he plays) then the fans will call for the next flavor of the month. We are going through a similar thing w/ Chad and Clemens up here and you guys are going through the coaching carousel that we went through for many years and w/ each new coach the hopes are high only to be dashed soon after before the excitement builds for the next coach. Having patience is very difficult but when rebuilding a team and trying to develop players we need to have a little patience.

He had a good game aginast a defense that already quit. But that aside he made nice throws on the run and looked like he settled down for the first time. It at the very least shouldve given him some confidence going into the off-season

I think the Jets, Bills, and Fins will be improved this year. I'm just encouraged that every move this off season wasn't met with a "Huh?" from so many people. I like the fact that we have addressed the front 7 on defense. I would have liked Calvin Pace, but that didn't work out for us. Of course it's all speculation until they perform on the field.

The Jets defense will be dangerous this year. By next year they could be something special.

Beck finished with a 96 QB rating for the game... which is good.

In previous games he had poor qb ratings (57, 77, 38).

FinFaninBuff and I have battled for a long time on this board, there is no way he would ever consider becoming a Jet fan. he was just trying to make a point.
