I went back to watch becks debut and i noticed i mean the kid never even has time to set his feet and make a throw every single play in this film hes running for his life we need to solidify our line to help john beck out thats for sure whether its the first round or second round for sure i like the smiley pick up but we still need a LT bad. How do you think were going to address this via the draft or free agency?

and again watch when he CAN set his feet he makes really nice throws I have confidence in beck if we can just get the supporting cast around him

Haha, "Right through the hands of Hagan". As if I haven't heard that enough in the last two years.

Were going to address this problem in the draft by selecting Matt Ryan. Then our QB wont suck and the problem is solved. Instead of running for his life our QB will then deliver a strike for a completion.

But yeah... I totally agree with you. I'm a Beck man. He looks great when he has some time, hits some great passes to Ginn out there.

you SOB... making me relive that!!!

your right, didnt have time often. but you can also see he doesnt step into his throw often, when he has the chance too. early in the clip you can see that. when he does use his body and step into it, he delivered a couple nice ones... strong deep throw up the middle to Ginn is an example.

he has work to do himself!!! he will be delicious!!! (i hope)

you put matt ryan in that same situation do you HONESTLY believe there would have been a different outcome? jeez get off your man crush

So, let me get this straight: John Beck runs for his life because of his protection, or lack there of. But yet drafting Matt Ryan, with Beck's level of protection, would get rid of that problem. :err:

you have a good point, though there were a bunch of plays where he also just looked like he had rookie jitters (like the short pass at 1:58.. granted he was under pressure but should have been an easy pass)- anyway, watching this you can definitely see beck's potential, like the pass at :45. may not have been a smart play throwing into triple coverage, but gotta admit it was a nice pass. every day i hope more and more that we dont draft ryan 1 overall. we could definitely use a great talent in one of the Longs more than a another high qb pick.

OK. I watched the first 6 plays in this clip and the protection was good on all but, two plays. On two of the first 3 he threw bad balls and missed his open target with time not being an issue.

On the rollout he made a decent completion when he was pressured.

On the 5th play he is pressured, but makes a decent move to avoid the one rusher, as any good QB should, but instead of resetting and finding an open target, HE CHOOSES to run for his life up the middle. Thats his mistake.

The 6th play he makes a nice throw for a good gain. Only real good looking play he made.

I will watch more but, stop already with the line bashing. The line wasnt great last year, but I remember early on everyone was saying how improved it was and alot were talking about it was solid(especially that stretch of games where Ronnie was on fire). I think the line was ok. Stop blaming Becks poor play on the line. I will watch the rest of this film. Cant say the were bad on the first 6 plays. At least nothing to the point that would give any excuses for the QB.

MATT YOU THINK TO HIGHLY OF YOURSELF. DID YOU SEE OUR LINE LAST YEAR YOU MUST BE JUST LOOKING AT ALL THAT GUARANTEED MONEY.

Honestly, why can't we cut him? I know he is a nice guy but **** him. Talking bout Hagan.

very acrobatic catch by booker at 2:35. hope wilford replaces him well

EDIT: ugh, i went back to gamecenter on nfl.com to make surer that was indeed booker making the catch, and i saw this:
It was over when ...
Jesse Chatman was thrown for a 13-yard loss on fourth-and-goal from the Eagles 1 with 6:45 left in the game. Trailing 17-7, Miami coach Cam Cameron could have opted for a short field goal but figured this would be his team's best chance for a touchdown. After a timeout, rookie quarterback John Beck pitched back to Chatman, but Eagles DE Juqua Thomas broke through and dropped Chatman for the loss.

remember that awful awful play call? 4th and goal on the 1 and we do a 10 yard pitch backwards? i'm sure i wouldn't be criticizing it had it worked, but you'd really expect most teams to run it up the gut there, or qb sneak it.. or just kick the fg to bring it within 1 score
