I'm not a big John Clayton fan. But he has some interesting tidbits in this article.

#1. Says Dom Capers could get more consideration from Miami then elsewhere, due to the fact that Jason and Zach, love the defensive scheme that he runs.

#2. He said don't read too much into JT'S retirement talk. He isn't retiring at the age of 32.

#3. Says Jim Bates could be in the mix. (Huizenga and players loved what he did at interim coach.) ??? But why did we kick him out of miami?

#4. Says to expect us to take the same route as Arizona and Atlanta, he will be looking to hire and ''hot assistant''

Sorry if this was already posted. Enjoy. :dolphins:

we didn't he was given an opoortunity to stay with us, but Bates is a prideful man. When he was passed over for saban he wanted out of here. I wouldn't be surprised if he only chooses to come back for a HC job here. I like the idea for Capers, although i really feel an OC for HC is more practical at this point. And Capers himself cant deny the Offense's struggle. I want Cam Cameron.

This i have to agree with you on.

hey thanks PeachFins, but yes I want CC in SD also. And I would love if he would be our coach, with Capers staying for defense. That would be the best of both worlds, but i dont know if capers will stay if he gets passed over.

I wouldn't mind Jim Bates being HC, and Dom Capers as DC. Just so we get a new OC, let me repeat a new OC!!!!!!!

Personally I think defensive cordinators make bad coaches I would rather have a new Offensive cordinator and if we do take a Head coach I want a Offencive cordinator or a big time college coach or a real good ex head coach.

1. Dom Capers. Love what he did with the Texans.

2. Come on. Who retires in their early 30's, when they are completely healthy and at the top of thier game? I mean who besides Tiki Barber, Barry Sanders, Jim Brown, ect ect

3. Jim Bates clearly is a great coach. As evident by the throngs of NFL teams that were beating down his door when he left Miami.......What? Oh.
Nevermind.

4. Atlanta and Arizona. If there are two franchises that I would want to model an NFL team after, those would be the two.......... Well, them and the Raiders.....................And the Bucs. :(

You think capers would stay if he got passed over for a guy with no HC expereince? and im sorry, but i dont want just any OC anymore. that doesnt work. Sabans master plan fell apart the second Scott Linehan became the HC of the rams, and i really believe that. We need an offensive mind. I dont even care if that means our defense goes from being great to just being good. I just wanna put points on the board for once. Ronnie can do it all. The receivers can only play as good as the Qb. I want a QB in the draft, and an OC for HC at the helm. We've been a 'defensive' team for almost a century now and frankly, it hasn't worked. If we need to focus all our energy on offense, and in doing so lose part of our defense, then i say we do it. Whats the worst that can happen? We've been through it all at this point.

Star QB on IR. Star RB retires!? HC leaves for Bama. Seriously, what is the WORST that could happen?

Hate to say it, but this has the looks of a significant "house cleaning"...a new HC will want to bring in people he trusts.

I think we can at least say good-bye to Mularkey (not necessarily a bad thing) and Capers...then, their replacements would want to bring in their people as well...

Some of the current staff will stay, but we may be in for another major adjustment in defensive/offensive philosophies

Well, when Marino was playing, we WERE an offensive team, and our defense consistently suffered. It was always about the offense. We need to find the balance. We need so much stuff...a great QB, some help on the offensive line, and we need to start grooming someone to take over for JT. We have Crowder who hopefully will be able to take ZT's place, but who knows. And now we need a new head coach, not to mention, our OC SUCKS. MM needs to be on the next bus out of Miami.

hey NawlinsBucFan what happen to caddy this year? I had him on my fantasy team and he killed me.... is he gonna be any better next year? should i make him my keeper again?

and dont forget with bates we actually wore the orange jerseys!!! so we would actually wear more than one different jersey through out the year ha ha

I don't see how Bates and Capers could co-exist. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Bates prefer simpler schemes with heavy man-to-man while Capers prefers constant blitzing and heavily disguised schemes?
