Chambers safe: For those in Miami worried about the status of wide receiver Chris Chambers because of his weekend incident in he was suspected of driving while impaired and speeding, he doesn't have much of a chance of being suspended if he's found guilty. First, the courts won't be able to start his case until the middle of August. Second, he doesn't have any past incidents that would put him in front of commissioner Roger Goodell. He will be available for the opener against the Redskins and thereafter.
I'm not so sure that this is 100% accurate (partly speculative on his part?), but it is good news nonetheless. If you are an ESPN Insider, then you can read the blog here:

http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=2940105&name=clayton_john

Also, Clayton sheds more light on the Culpepper fiasco.

It's extremely accurate and it even fails to mention that there's a good chance Chris won't be charged. He passed his breathalyzer at the station, that's a much better determining factor than any test they can supply in the field.

I'd say there's around a 10% chance he gets charged, followed by another 10% chance he gets suspended if charged. Chances look good for Dolphins fans.

It is good news, but it also wouldn't be the end of the world if Chambers were suspended for 2 games and Hagan took his place. Hagan is primed to break out and let's face it, the majority of Dolphins fans are worried that Chambers will pull some sort of disappearing act yet again this year. And if Ginn were to be forced into some early playing time, I'm ok with that, too.

That being said, hopefully Chambers is able to put this behind him and he gets off to a good start this year. Given the fact that he lives part time up there in Charlotte and knows how strict the police are, driving while moderately impaired at 3 in the morning and going 75 in a 45 was, shall we say, not smart.

Really ?? The majority of fans think he'll disappear ?? I think you have most of us confused with the Cpep hater/lovers...I think your assessment is a little presumptuous. You see a couple of guys post negatively about CC and assume that is the majority ??

IMO jim1 is correct.

It's been more then a couple of guys posting negatively about CC's disappearing acts of every year.

I would venture to say a couple of guys support him regardless of what he does.

First of all, I said that the majority of Dolphins fans are WORRIED about Chambers disappearing again. I never said that they think that he WILL disappear.

Second of all, it's kind of ironic that you accuse me of being presumptuous when you, in fact, presume that I base my opinion on, what were your words, seeing "a couple of guys post negatively about CC and assume that is the majority ??"

I base my opinion on what I gather from friends, family, what I see and hear living in south Florida, and of course the media. And you presume that I base my opinion on reading a couple of negative posts on this site?

Next time read a little better and think a little clearer before you come up with another half baked, half witted post.

Some on this board yesterday mention Chambers only got ticketed for speeding. I tried searching for this news and didnt find any stories to corroborate it. although I asked for a link to prove this, noone posted one so I doubt that specualtion is accurate

74 in a 45 zone.

According to a police report obtained by The Herald, Chambers was pulled over at 2:31 a.m. for driving 74 mph in a 45 mph zone and he initially refused to blow at the scene of the arrest. After arriving at the jail, Chambers blew a .06, which is below the legal limit of .08.

If you refuse to blow at the scene dont they automatically charge you with DWI. Although I guess he was smart in doing this now because they cannot prove that he was drunk while he was driving at the scene

It's a good thing he tested at the clink, cause from what I understand, refusing the breathalizer is the same as blowing positive. Either way, judging from his mug-shot, he's either a real lightweight, or he was partying with Cheech and Chong before hand.

do you have a pic of his mugshot? i think that would be funny to seee

Hopefully Clayton is right on the money on this.

Chris Chambers for all of his faults, is still the best and most proven Wr that we have, it would not break my heart if he beat the charges, not at all, I am just saying that in NC it is very difficult to do that here in PRNC.

As a football note, as I recall all of the Wr's last year (except for Welker) had difficulties catching the ball, I wonder if Harrington had something to do with that?

Hagen McMike Chambers all had hands of stone last year, and I find that really strange, two are vets and Hagen was known for sure hands in college.
