Saban wants a boatload of second-round picks, huh? He may be able to get what he wants by making three trades:
Step 1 - Trade down with the Vikings: #2 for #7 and #18
Step 2 - Trade down with the Eagles: #7 for #31, #35, #63, and #94
Step 3 - Trade down with the Raiders: #18 and #70 for #26 and #38
The Vikings want Edwards. Are they willing to give up #7 and #18 to get him?
The Eagles have 13 picks. They're almost surely going to try to trade up to get a top WR in the first-round (How far do they plan on trading up, and how far are they willing to trade up? I don't know). Mike Williams and Troy Williamson will most likely be available at #7. They'd be great additions, and would do well opposite TO. Hell, the Eagles might be able to land Caddy Williams or Cedric Benson at that slot. Imagine what either one of them would do for the Eagles.
The Raiders have already shown that they're willing to trade up. They're up to something. I think they want Matt Jones or Jason Campbell. They'll almost surely get either one at #18.
First day picks after making the above three trades:
#26 (1st)
#31 (1st)
#35 (2nd)
#38 (2nd)
#46 (2nd)
#63 (2nd)
#94 (3rd)
And we could possibly even trade down into the second-round with #26 and #31 (And pick up a couple more third-round picks along the way, too, depending on how far we wanted to drop down from those picks)...
If we're able to pull off the anticipated trade with the Vikings (#2 for #7 and #18), we will have plenty of options...
