John Gruden is our man.

No but he did build Oakland into a powerhouse, until Al Davis had one of his annual fits and tore a winning team down

Good post, gruden doesnt get the credit he deserves for being a great coach out of hearsay bull****, guy won a superbowl, something 95% of hc will never do in there lifetime, he is who ross needs to go lock up already. Cowher would be just as good, either one would be great over this idiot sparano.

Not a bad option but don't fool yourself - he did not build them into that team - but he did take them over the top. And what did he do after that? He has like a 90-80 win-loss record - so he is no savior!

Better than Sparano - yes! Better that Coach Chin...probably not!

what is with this continuing garbage argument that gruden didnt build that team?????? let me make it CLEAR. they SUCKED UNDER DUNGY. ok? they simply could never get it done. why do u think the glazers paid such a ransom of draft picks to get him???????

THEY WERE CONVICTED about the guy. AND THEY WERE RIGHT!!!!! stop ignoring FACTS.

gruden did put the finishing touches on this. and where was brad johnson before gruden got him????

nope gruden had nothing to do with it. stop being ridiculous and start making some sense!!!!

and nope gruden didnt have ANYTHING do with the raiders actually being in that super bowl. lmfao. where was rich gannon before gruden???

make some sense PLEASE

I'd be curious to know what Warren Sapp thinks of Gruden. He's a guy with ties to Miami and he seems like one of the few intelligent media guys.

You mean the guy who pretty much sent Tampa Bay into a hole they are just starting to crawl out of?

there is no way to tell but do i think he can make us a great football team? hell yes.

THANK YOU!!! UNEQUIVOCALLY YES!!! yes gruden can make this a GREAT football team. and hes DONE IT. and all u naysayers that try to discredit his super bowl? clearly you dont understand the difference between GOOD and GREAT. and have no idea the ingredients potentially it takes to make that leap.

tampa was GOOD when gruden got there. there were GREAT a season later. and yes his hand was in the whole damn thing. he didnt even have a quarterback when he got there. and he called the offense - which btw was OUTSTANDING in that postseason run with NO PLAYMAKERS. zero

u mean the superbowl champions of 2002? thats a hell of a nice "hole" to be in bro, i mean can it get any worse than this hole parcells has dug us into? yes it can, but only with tony sparano.

Way to dodge the argument, if yiu want to focus on what Gruden did in on year then you have to look at his whole tenure.
Guess what? He sucked, he ruined that team.

he turned Oakland into a powerhouse with a group of guys 2 steps away from the retirement home! Go back and look at that roster... Rich Gannon, Jerry Rice, Trace Armstrong, Lincoln Kennedy, Rod Woodson, Tim Brown, Romanowski... Good lord, I'm surprised their dentures didn't fall out during their playoff run...

does it matter who he did it with? what matters is, the guy wins, plane and simple.

i would be more inclined to know what john lynch thinks of him. warren sapp does some ugly **** off the field. and thinks very highly of himself. i wouldnt mind knowing what sapp thinks - ill guarantee u he respects the guy. and i bet as time has gone on hes grateful he had him as his coach that year. so yes id like to hear what sapp says. but john lynch is the guy in the lockerroom that had the respect. id be curious to see what he says.

Jon Gruden is a mad man maniac Chucky Doll look alike. The players in Oakland wanted to have a hit put on the Man and he basically inherited the team he did in Tampa. Gruden is good for about 2 years, then when the player revolt starts to happen he is canned. So, what good is that going to do Miami. They would have to start all over again in about 3 years when all the players want to shoot Gruden in the head.

Bill Callahan had a lot to do with turning the old age guys into caring again also. He too after a few years was said to be hated by the players.
