John Gruden is our man.

Dungy got the job done with the Colts just fine

u mean peyton got the job done? give me a break man, gruden won a championship with brad johnson, dungy won one with manning, theres no argument there who had the tougher road to a superbowl.

My point still stands... Gruden has not developed a SINGLE young QB... Unless you want to count Favre, but I don't know what extent he aided in grooming Favre.

Was he given any QB's worth developing? I'm sure he'll develop Luck, Barkley, or Jones just fine for us.

Why would Gruden want to come to miami? Is there any promise for the immediate future? Having to deal with Brady and Belichick twice a year and then Rex and the Jets on top of it, stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'd venture to say that an open HC spot in Miami would be the most radioactive job on the market this offseason. Best bet is to promote Nolan and stick with him until the AFC east landscape changes.

sure as hell did. how many years did he have the best team and the best quarterback in the NFL only to continue his trend of bowing out in the playoffs year after year even with home field? should peyton manning end his career with only one ring? no chance! but he will.

im not gonna blast dungy. in the end he got a ring. but no coach ever did less with more. being a players best friend is not the way to win super bowls. it generally doesnt lead to winning often in the NFL. in order to win a team needs LEADERSHIP. lucky he had manning to take over that role.

Gruden praises miami all the time on national tv, he obviously has always wanted to coach here but it just hasnt been the right fit yet, nows the time and ross needs to jump on it. Another reason is, he loves the game of football and ross giving him an 8 million dollar contract a year would not hurt either you know?

His players thought of him as a wise *** little punk before he was done as head coach. Yeah just what we need, another Saban clone. Been there, done that

saban clone? what the hell has saban done in the nfl level to be compared to john gruden? try again.

Gruden inherited talent when in the NFL. His personality may work in the college ranks but it usually isn't going to work in todays NFL. The big boys get sick of people like him.

he didnt inherit anything in oakland, u know the team he beat in the superbowl in 02? sheesh, do some research man.

no thats not the best bet because the ship has sunk on nolan watch. not nolans fault. but this team MUST have fresh blood. they are too familiar with Nolan and Nolan didnt have authority when he was here. in otherwords his future authority would be undermined by his familiarity with the players here. that is not a recipe for success. and nolan doesnt have the resume.

why wouldnt gruden come here? hes well aware of the history. and u think THAT guy doesnt want to make his mark on the game??? are u nuts??? what BETTER place to come than miami for him???? tradition that he can construct a message of success on and tap into when he needs to appeal to a players heart. facing bill belicheck and rex 2x a year is EXACTLY what a real winner WANTS. im telling u. think about this. (im not saying it will happen) but think. if he happened to win say 2 super bowls really early in his tenure as head coach. NO JOKING - HE WOULD BE CONSIDERED THE BEST EVER. just like they are saying about BB. because he would have done it with 2 TEAMS, and FAST. so many positives here for gruden. and for all the **** i give and we give ireland. the one thing he has NOT DONE is cripple this team with contracts and overpaid veterans moving forward (something gruden has never experienced before). can u think of ANOTHER team in the NFL thats going to be looking for a head coach that would be a BETTER situation for gruden moving forward??

miami is a good fit

When a team is 1-11 in it's last 12 home games and opens the season on prime time and gets embarassed the problem is a coaching problem-Sparano has to go and Henne is best as a back-up- he's not starter material- the sooner the better- I'll take Gruden or Cowher but what about Fisher - he's also available- instead Ross goes and courts Harbaugh who hasn't done squat instead of making a serious offer to guys that have proven themselves. The whole organization has become a joke.
