I give him credit for entering the competition with the goal of winning the job. I happen to think Ingold is one of the best fullbacks in the NFL but if Lovett can win the job, he will prove he can be one of the top fullbacks in the league too.

That being stated, my money is on Ingold.

That block Ingold threw downfield to spring Waddle in the Ravens game was a ****ing masterpiece. Lovett has a better chance solving the debt ceiling crisis than beating out Ingold.

I’d say it’s unlikely but certainly possible.

If he makes the roster over Ingold it’ll save us $3M, so he has that going for him.

Not many teams even carry a FB anymore so the demand for his services would not be very high.

Which makes you wonder if we should pay that money to Ingold and not take the chance of releasing/re-signing him for less.

$3M is pretty significant at this point in our history.
