Don't get me wrong fella's I could give a sh*t either way what the media thinks about this team, and I'm definately not complaining of no respect. I dont agree with him on this though but I look at it from a homer point of view so I wanna see what you guys think. If not it's kinda disturbing being the amount of $ we have dumped into that group. Just scroll down a little bit.

I don't think we're top 5 either... you mean, there are people who actually think we are? Who?

We do have a lot money invested in the OL, but we had a couple new guys in Thomas and Grove and a couple injuries as well. Our guys up front could have all played better but I fully expect them to improve next season as they have spent some time together as a line and the continuity factor should be able to kick in.

Top 5 right now? Not even close... Maybe by the end of next season? Lets hope so.

I don't think our line is top five, but there's no way in hell the Colts' is. They can't run the ball when they need to and look awesome in pass protection because Peyton Manning is as good as Dan Marino. Let's not undersell our offensive line either, though. Despite injuries to our backs and linemen as well as an inconsistent passing game, we stayed top 5 five in rushing all year long.

I don't really know where we would be ranked that's why I made the post, I do know some fans are really big on watching the O line throughout the games but I'm not one of them. So were not top 5 about where do you think we rank? I would say top 10 that was a strong spot for us this season minus a couple of bad, bad games.

also with what were putting out money wise we better be top 5 soon!

I dont think we're top 5 either, however on the other hand Chris Colinsworth makes John Madden actually sound like he knows what hes talking about,so its a wash.....

I think the panel just got together for a free lunch. They took the top four teams who allowed the fewest Qb hits and the team with the fewest negative run plays(which was Philly). Philly had no business making the list they had eight fewer negative run plays than us but ran the ball 125 less times than us. Also we only had 2 more Qb hits. And we had 10 more rushes of 10+ yards than Philly. It doesn't matter though Titans should win their line was ridiculous. If you take into account all those factors plus rush yds, pass att, avg. yds per rush and sacks it should go.....
1. Tennessee
2. New York Jets
3. New Orleans
4. Miami
5. Atlanta

Thanks DOLFAN51 that's what I was looking for, someone that could figure it out through stats and all. I'm far from a stat guy or computer whiz it would have took me alot longer to put that together. I'm the type my kids do everything for me on the computer. So we were pretty decent this yr hopefully next yr everything fall in together and they mesh and NO injuries hopefully.

Cleveland, Carolina, and Jacksonville had good positive offensive line stats too but the negative rush plays were high for cleveland and Carolina. Jacksonville avg. 4.7 per rush but their pass protection was the worst in the league.

there is no way Atlanta line is top 5

Im not sure this Oline is top 5, however John Madden hasnt been relevant in a long time so his opinion means squat to me.

Who thinks our OL is top 5? We can't pass block worth a damn and 3/5 of our starting line can't stay healthy.

Not even top 10. Top 20, probably.

It's really a judgement call. But Atlanta ranked 7th in most pass att. this year, 7th in fewest hits on their Qb, and gave up the eight fewest sacks with a second year Qb splitting time with a Qb who had a reputation of hanging on to the ball too long. They only avg. 4.2 yards per carry but only had 32 negative rush plays. There were a few teams that I could I have put on the list but considering their injuries I thought they were the most impressive. And even though their stats aren't great the number of negative plays they allowed was low.
